QUESTION: WHY IS IT RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE ALL MY BATTERIES AT THE SAME TIME, EVEN THOUGH ONLY ONE TESTS BAD? |
ANSWER: It is always recommended to replace multiple batteries at the same time, especially those hooked up in series or parallel. Most chargers, when in use, identify the weak battery and start charging it. If you hook up a newer battery, the charger may overcharge the newer one, causing its lifespan to shorten dramatically. Conversely, if the charger stops prematurely because it senses the newer battery is charged, it can shorten the lifespan of the older battery. When you replace all the batteries, you start with good voltage. This will also decrease issues with electrical problems in today’s modern voltage-sensitive engines. So, start with all fresh batteries, and you will be more assured of proper operation. |
