On Sunday the 25th of October, my wife Carol and I and Humberto and his
wife Maricruz attended the quarterly Compañerismo (Fellowship) Worship
Service of the Lampasas Area Hispanic churches. It was a great joy and a
wonderful blessing to meet together with almost 90 people for the purpose of
worshipping together followed by fellowship around the dinner table. This
service was held at the Mountain Baptist Church in Gatesville where the
Hispanic church Hogar de Dios holds their weekly services. The members of
the Mountain Church hosted this fellowship. Pastor Kurt preached with a
translator and their choir joined in the hymn sing part of the service and then
they provided some delicious food. It was such a joy to see how Mountain
Church has taken this fairly new Hispanic congregation under their wing,
welcoming them by letting them use part of the building for the Hispanic
church.
Besides the Hogar de Dios Church and Mountain Baptist participating in the
worship service, also attending and worshipping were the Hispanic church of
Gatesville, the Hispanic church in Lometa, the Hispanic church in Lampasas,
and the new Hispanic church plant in Hico. There were also visitors from
Stephenville, Marble Falls and Gatesville.
It was a wonderful time of worship and fellowship and was especially a joy to
see the Mountain Church so together with the Hispanic congregation that
meets in their building.
The next fellowship will be on January 31 st in the afternoon. Come join us and
be blessed and don’t worry about the language barrier—we always have
translators available.

El domingo 25 de octubre, mi esposa Carola y yo, junto con Humberto y su
esposa Maricruz, asistimos al culto trimestral de Compañerismo de las iglesias
hispanas del área de Lampasas. Fue una gran alegría y una bendición
maravillosa reunirnos con casi 90 personas para adorar juntas y,
posteriormente, disfrutar de un tiempo de comunión alrededor de la mesa. El
culto tuvo lugar en la iglesia Mountain Baptist Church, en Gatesville, donde la
congregación hispana «Hogar de Dios» celebra sus servicios semanales. Los
miembros de Mountain Baptist Church fueron los anfitriones de este encuentro.
El pastor Kurt predicó con la ayuda de un traductor; además, el coro de la
iglesia participó en el tiempo de cánticos y, al finalizar, nos ofrecieron una
comida deliciosa. Fue una gran alegría ver cómo Mountain Baptist Church ha
acogido a esta congregación hispana —que es relativamente nueva—,
brindándoles un espacio dentro de sus instalaciones para que puedan llevar a
cabo sus actividades.
Además de la iglesia Hogar de Dios y la iglesia Mountain Baptist, que
participaron en el culto, también asistieron y participaron en la adoración la
iglesia hispana de Gatesville, la iglesia hispana de Lometa, la iglesia hispana de Lampasas y la nueva congregación hispana establecida en Hico. También hubo visitantes provenientes de Stephenville, Marble Falls y Gatesville.
Fue un tiempo maravilloso de adoración y conpañerismo; resultó
especialmente grato ver a la iglesia Mountain Baptist tan unida a la
congregación hispana que se reúne en sus instalaciones.
El próximo encuentro de Compañerismo tendrá lugar la tarde del 31 de enero.
