Please Pray and lift up Kevin Miles, our Tri-Rivers Strategic Ministry Director, as he cares for his mother who lives in Arkansas, who is critically ill with cancer. Pray that the Lord will surround their family with compassion, strength, and peace during this difficult season.
On Sunday, FBC Gatesville of the Coryell Baptist Association extended a call to Talon Keeney to serve as their pastor. I am deeply grateful for the four plus years Talon has faithfully served as Associate Director for the Tri-Rivers Baptist Area. It has been an honor to minister alongside him, and I now look forward to supporting him in my role as his Director of Missions. Talon has served our Tri-Rivers churches with a true servant’s heart, strengthening our Brotherhood of Churches. While I will miss working with him day to day, I am excited to see how God will use him as he shepherds FBC Gatesville.
We also celebrate the calling of John “Warren” Cornell as pastor of Purmela Baptist Church in the Coryell Baptist Association. We give thanks for all who have surrendered to God’s call to pastoral ministry. On Sunday, I was honored to participate in the Ordination Service of Pastor Steve O’Neal of Levita Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Kemp of FBC Copperas Cove bringing the message. That morning, I was blessed to worship and preach at Robertson Avenue Baptist Church.
This past week, I continued serving our area churches by assisting search committees, providing evangelism resources, and hosting our Pastor’s Cohort. We were also blessed to finalize the transfer of operations for CWJC of Dublin to the Tri-Rivers Baptist Area Board—more information on this will be shared in the coming weeks.
In the days ahead, I will be serving BSM, meeting with Timber Ridge Church, assisting a church with outreach planning, attending and sharing at the Burnet/Llano Baptist Association Gathering hosted by FBC Tow, and supporting our Tri-Rivers WMU Leadership. I will also be providing search committee training for Robertson Avenue Baptist Church. On Sunday, I will again be preaching at Robertson Avenue Baptist Church before attending the Hamilton Baptist Association Meeting hosted by FBC Hico.
Recovery Fund: Strengthening Churches Together
We continue to give thanks for the growth of the Tri-Rivers Church Recovery Fund—a vital resource for congregations navigating the rising costs of property insurance. More information is available in our newsletter and online. If your church has not yet completed the Property Insurance Survey, we encourage you to do so soon to ensure access to this important support.
