“In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thank you, Lord, for saving me and for calling me into your service as we are all called to live in such a way that others are drawn unto You. I pray that this Thanksgiving that we share our gratefulness to You by sharing Your Love with others. Amen.
This past week, I was able to travel serving our ministry partner BSM, while also visiting with area minsters over breakfast, working with churches in evangelism opportunities and church growth. On Sunday, I was blessed to worship and preach at Fairy Baptist Church of Hamilton Association followed by attending the 131st Church Anniversary of St. Frederick Baptist
Church in the Burnet/Llano Association.

Tri-Rivers Baptist Area is blessed to announce that Kevin Miles is our newest staff in serving our Tri-Rivers Baptist Area Churches and Associations in the position of “Strategic Ministry Director.” This position is self-funded, meaning Kevin will be raising his ministry salary through private donations while Tri-Rivers Baptist Area will cover his travel and expenses as we do with all our support staff (paid and volunteered).
Background: Kevin began serving as a youth minister when he was 19 years old after his first semester at Ouachita Baptist University. He graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Greek and Hebrew. He then moved to Texas and received a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a focus in Youth Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003. Kevin was licensed to Gospel Ministry on January 17, 1996, at First Baptist, Paragould, AR and Ordained to Gospel Ministry on July 18, 1999, at Fairdale Baptist, Hot Springs, AR.
Kevin met his amazing wife, Angela, while in seminary on a blind date - introduced to each other by a local high school principal - where he substituted while in seminary. They married in 2004 and moved to Louisiana where Kevin served on staff at First Baptist Church, Oak Grove and New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, West Monroe while also serving as the volunteer Louisiana State Coordinator for the National Network of Youth Ministries and served as a Youth Ministry Consultant for the Louisiana Baptist Convention.
In 2010, Kevin and his family moved to Texas serving on church staff for FBC Stephenville serving as Youth Minister and then as Associate Pastor of Education, Missions & Discipleship. During this time Kevin became connected to Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry and attended a forum led by Rick Eubanks. This forum changed everything for Kevin and his ministry. The students at his church quickly caught the vision and saw God do some amazing things through implementing Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry. Kevin then felt the call to invest in youth ministers by serving as the South Central & Heartland Regional Coordinator for National Network of Youth Ministries.
Kevin has a passion and calling for Missions as he has served On Mission in Ukraine (four separate times), Mexico (multiple times) Venezuela and Kenya, while also serving across the United States from Alaska to Florida. He enjoys planning and implementing Mission Trips for churches and mission groups.
Kevin comes to Tri-Rivers Baptist Area to serve our area churches and associations in the position of “Strategic Ministry Director”. In this position Kevin will serve churches and associations through Mission Trip Planning (including traveling with the mission group), State Convention Relations (BGCT & SBTC), Jesus Focused Youth Ministry Consultant while providing opportunities in networking churches together along with our ministry and mission partners, providing coaching for ministers and servant leaders and conducting church ministry training in areas of need. Kevin loves to connect with people and help churches and their leadership to reach their fullest potential.
Kevin comes to Tri-Rivers Baptist Area at this God appointed time as we have seen a resurgence in our area churches in evangelism, missions and outreach opportunities. We have seen our churches become stronger in all areas of ministry through the support and prayers of one another. We are becoming a stronger “Brotherhood of Churches" and Kevin Miles will be a blessed addition as we together serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in fulling the Great Commission.

Hurricane Helene ripped through the eastern portion of the United States. Since then, Texans on Mission Disaster Relief teams have delivered help, hope and healing in the name of Christ in North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida.
Now, we're starting to shift into the rebuild phase of the recovery process. You and your church can help rebuild homes and restore lives in the wake of this catastrophic storm.
- Pick your preferred dates to serve (specific dates or general time frames like Spring Break or summer)
- We will connect with you to learn more about your group and begin to match you up with possible projects in North Carolina.
- And show up to serve. Through our network, we'll provide your necessary tools, meals and housing. We'll help your team with the expertise and guidance to complete the projects.
- Cost: You are responsible for transportation to the various projects. Depending on day of service, housing and meals range in cost from $0-$20 a day per person.
Having someone on your team with light construction experience is helpful, but not necessary.
Be the answer to someone's prayer. Help families get back into their homes after the storm. We have options to serve starting in November and going into 2025. The ministry opportunities are so extensive that your church can pick the dates they'd like to serve, including Spring Break and summer.
Want to know more? Visit texansonmission.org/rebuildwnc to request more information. Fill out a short form, and we'll connect with you.
The challenges before North Carolinians are enormous. But we serve a bigger God. Be part of what He is doing in North Carolina.
See you soon on the mission field.

This year’s Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and Week of Prayer is Dec. 1-8, 2024. The offering goes to missionaries serving through the International Mission Board carrying on the legacy from Lottie Moon serving in China from 1873 to 1912.
During her time, she wrote letters to the Foreign Mission Board (now the International Mission Board) and to Baptist women while serving in China. In her letters she asked for more missionaries and for money to grow her work among the Chinese. Due to her determination, WMU collected a Christmas Offering to give to the Foreign Mission Board.
Facts about Lottie:
- Lottie was born in Virginia on December 12, 1840.
- Her name was Charlotte Digges Moon, but everyone called her “Lottie.”
- She was 4’9” tall.
- Lottie was appointed to China as a missionary at age 33 and served there 39 years, primarily in Tengchow and Pingtu.
- She wore Chinese clothes and lived like her Chinese neighbors.
- Lottie had several nicknames in China—foreign devil, foreign lady teacher, heavenly book visitor, and the cookie maker. (Lottie baked cookies to win the hearts of the children and families who were frightened of her.)
- Lottie led in the campaign to end the practice of bound feet. The Chinese believed small feet made a woman more beautiful, so girls’ feet were bound tightly with cloth. Girls with bound feet could hardly walk, and infections, gangrene, and even death were common side effects of this practice.
- In 1912 at the end of her career, famine, flood, and war encircled her China. Her friends were starving. In a final act of empathy, Lottie stopped eating and gave all her food away. When her friends realized the depth of her sickness, they put her on a boat to return to the United States. Lottie died on Christmas Eve while in route to the U.S.
- In 1918, at Annie Armstrong’s suggestion, WMU named the offering for Lottie Moon.

Dear Texas Baptist (BGCT) Churches,
As you well know, the current property insurance environment for Texas Baptist churches is difficult at best, and dire for many. These circumstances have prompted the BGCT to explore potential solutions, including forming a captive insurance pool. Administered through a new corporation (yet to be formed) which will be under the control of the BGCT, the insurance pool would function much like a coop to provide insurance coverage for our churches.
We believe the benefits of this pool will include stable coverage, competitive rates and deductibles, stronger incentives, and more ministry investment. A feasibility study specifically for the Texas Baptists Insurance Program is currently underway and will be critical in determining our next steps.
If you would be interested in providing your church information for this insurance feasibility study, please send your contact information to your Director of Missions as he is compiling an interest list to be forwarded to Texas Baptist.
Once we receive your contact information, you will receive a request for basic insurance information that will only take a few minutes to complete. This information will be vital in setting up this new program and in partnering with us that will benefit both your church and our family of Texas Baptist churches.
If you want to study more about this program, the link below is a webinar BGCT conducted for Director of Missions across the state. We are excited about the possibilities the program holds.

Hello, I'd like to share about our ministry so that congregations will know what we do and where to send those who need our help. We serve Coryell, Hamilton, Bosque, Lampasas, Bell, & McLennan counties.
I am willing to meet with pastors, elders, mission teams, or congregations. I can do a quick 5 minute spill or I can do an entire testimony. I'd also be willing to share a song or two if needed. I'm completely willing to accommodate whatever the churches needs are.
