“We are a Brotherhood of Churches.”

I first come to you with Prayer Request for two of our area pastors who are experiencing health issues. Pastor Doug Lindley of FBC Burnet who is suffering from shingles on the eyes and for pastor Jeremy Sanders of FBC Oglesby who was injured when a cow kicked him in the face. Please take a moment to offer a prayer for healing and recovery.

If you haven't RSVP for the upcoming Missions Gathering on February 4th, I encourage you to do so as it will be a blessing for all who attend as we Worship Together, Fellowship Together, Learn Together, Do Missions Together and Pray Together.

I encourage you to view the SOS Report (Summary of Service) in this newsletter to view a snapshot of our service to our Area Churches. We continue to serve our churches in the areas of: On-site Ministry Resources, Pulpit Supplies, Church Administration Assistance, Church Search Committees, Sound/Social Media Assistance, Encouragement, Evangelism, Mentoring and more.

On Sunday, I was blessed to worship and preach at Carlton Baptist Church followed by moderating the Ordination Service at Adamsville Baptist Church and then attending Fairy Baptist Church for their Business Meeting.

This week, I will be meeting with some area pastors/ministers, serving our ministry partners, serving area WMU’s, while providing the daily ministry needs of our area churches and leadership. This Sunday, I am honored to worship and preach at Adamsville Baptist Church as they ordain their Music Minister Lonnie Bear into the Gospel Ministry, followed by attending and sharing at the Hamilton Baptist Association Meeting hosted by FBC Hico, followed by attending the Hispanic Fellowship that evening at Iglesia Bautista Hispana

I am also seeking out information from our churches who may be interested in or are presently involved in the ministry of Bible Drills & Speaker Tournament. Please see this newsletter to share with us your involvement in this ministry.

Please take time to view the Tri-Rivers Baptist Area Newsletter to remain connected to ministry needs & Resource/Training Opportunities and to view all upcoming Ministry, Training and Fellowship Opportunities.

If you have a ministry need or request, please do not hesitate to call your

Associate Director Report – Talon Keeney

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great week! Your Tri-Rivers Area Office is staying busy taking care of churches needs. Please pray for Pastor Jeremy Sanders of FBC Oglesby who was in an accident last Saturday and the people of Ukraine for peace upon their land.

This past Sunday I lead worship and preached at FBC Oglesby. This coming Sunday I'm looking forward to attending Highland Lakes Baptist Church for their 5th Sunday Hymn Sing and Meal. This Wednesday I will be assisting FBC Granite Shoals with their sound and streaming system.

I am available to assist any of our area churches who need a guest worship leader or musician, and I am available to give sound, video, and media consultations, and assistance.

We are in need of Musicians, Worship Leaders, and Local Church Missionaries to serve in our area Churches. If you feel led to serve in this area, please contact your Area Office at or 254-865-1299.

I am here to serve you in all your ministry needs and it is my joy to do so. I look forward to meeting you as my wife Josalyne and I travel the Tri-Rivers Baptist Area visiting and worshiping with you on Sunday's.

I wanted you to be the first to hear that we are planning an Area Wide event for the DFW Area. It will be held at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary at the Riley Center on Saturday, January 21st from 9am-4pm.

There will be two tracts you can choose from:

1. JFYM Forum. If you need a refresher or want to bring your leaders to experience the in person training, this is for you.

2. JFYM Implementation Workshop. This is only for those who have been to a JFYM Forum and are ready to implement JFYM in their ministry or need help knowing what to do next.

There will be a per person cost for this forum to help with expenses. We will be sending out a promo packet soon, so be looking for that! If you have any questions or want to make sure you receive the packet, just reply to this email and let me know!

Better Together

Networking means leveraging efforts - working together.

And "together" means all of us - youth workers, teenage leaders, teachers, parents, other adults - everyone who loves kids.

We want to equip you to step out and work alongside youth leaders and other caring adults locally - empowered by national connections to reach and equip young people for Jesus Christ.

We are excited to share that our latest resource is our online learning system featuring Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry which introduces learners to six essential characteristics emulating Jesus’ ministry:

  • Go deeper in intimacy with Christ
  • Pray with passion for God’s presence and power
  • Build leaders for in-depth and long-term ministry
  • Disciple students to move toward maturity in Christ
  • Penetrate the culture through relationships
  • Create outreach opportunities to reach students for Christ

While we still offer in-person training forums, we believe the addition of individualized online training will put this invaluable resource into the hands of many more people. Because we offer the training in English, Spanish, Russian, and Swahili, it will exponentially increase our reach.

We are building on our past to influence the future. And we are giving JFYMO away free to youth leaders during our introductory period. You can learn more by visiting

Tri-Rivers Baptist Area is partnering with Restoration Advocates, Inc. as we continue to minister to victims of Domestic Violence.

Restoration Advocates exists to provide the care and support necessary for women, and their dependent children, who are victims of domestic violence and other dangers that place them at risk of life or physical harm and/or deprive them of their overall safety and sense of well-being. Our mission is for every woman in an unsafe home to have the confidence, as well as the resources, to independently support herself and her children.

To that end, we have established a safe haven called Restoration Place, where survivors of family violence can live in safety as they restore their lives to health and happiness. Restoration Place provides emergency housing for women and children in crisis, and we also offer transitional housing for a period of up to two years if that is needed for the family to be fully independent and self-supporting. Learn More HERE
