November is another busy month in the art room. Our Square 1 orders have been submitted. I would like to share a special thanks to all families who ordered keepsakes of your child’s Square One Art. Thank you so much for supporting your child and our art program. Products are scheduled to arrive at school on December 4th.
There are lots of fun art projects happening in the art room.
Primary artists are completing drawings based on the fall and moving into winter scenes. We’ve been working with crayon, marker, colored pencils and oil pastels. Third and fifth graders are completing their drawing units, learning lots of drawing tricks to show 3-d distance on paper. I’m so proud of our student’s “never give up” attitudes in art. We are working hard and it shows in their work.
I am also thrilled about our Gyotaku printmaking unit in 4th grade that is coming to an end. You should see these Japanese-styled “fish prints” come home soon. They are beyond awesome!
Congratulations to Morgan Weeks for being chosen as one of the district’s Kids Tag Art Drawing Design Contest winners!
Morgan will be presented with her award at a district celebration later this year.
