June Observance Highlight: Pride Month |
June is Pride Month, so we have highlighted a list of local Sacramento resources for LGBTQ+ people and allies to use in celebrating and better understanding the community and its history. These resources include the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, the Lavender Library, the Pride Center @ CSUS, the Gender Health Center, PFLAG Sacramento, and the Trans and Queer Youth Collective.

Getting to Know Anthony Robinson | As an educator, Anthony has worked primarily with homeless and underserved students. He has also worked for a number of years in the racial equity space. In his role as Racial Equity Specialist, he plans to further the work that has already been started around the Racial Equity Action Plan. | |

EHV Enrollment Full
Reminder: all Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs) have been utilized. The funding will run through 2032, but we are no longer making new referrals for clients. We are thrilled that all of these have been dispersed throughout the community to help those in need. You can view the data for the EHVs, including exits to permanent housing, using the link below. This data is updated monthly.

HMIS and Analytics Departments Merge to Form Data and Analytics
We are excited to share that the HMIS team has merged with the Analytics team, resulting in the establishment of our new Data & Analytics Department (D&A). Leading this department is our newly appointed Department Director, Trent Simmons. Trent is an exceptional leader with extensive expertise in data and social sciences.
D&A is responsible for delivering comprehensive data reports for homeless services in Sacramento and Yolo County, as well as a variety of tasks such as developing and maintaining tools like our Community Queue and dashboards. While HMIS and Analytics have collaborated closely in the past, this merger will significantly enhance our ability to engage in a more comprehensive and robust manner.

Housing Tools Chosen as NOFO Consultant
The CoC Board approved the selection of Housing Tools to serve as the FY2023 CoC NOFO competition consultant, as recommended by the proposal review and interview panel comprised of PRC co-chairs and SSF staff. Learn more about Housing Tools on their website below.

New 2024 PITC Contactor Approved
The CoC has officially approved the bid from Simtech Solutions, inc. for the 2024 Pit Count. Simtech Solutions is experienced in point-in-time count (PITC) projects and specializes in using the latest technological tools. Learn more about them on their website, linked below.

Program Director Chosen for Systems of Care Integration |
Welcome to Ayanna McGee, our team’s new Program Director, Systems of Care Integration!
Ayanna is a passionate health equity professional and has earned a Master of Health Administration and a Master of Public Health. Ayanna is currently completing a Doctor of Education in Health Professions with a dissertation exploring, “Investigating Current Efforts and Opportunities for Culturally Responsive Suicide Prevention Training Among the Behavioral Health Workforce.” Ayanna’s professional journey includes experience in food access, youth and family services, public health program evaluation, and technical assistance for substance use prevention and mental health systems of care as well as expertise in project management, grants management, community engagement, and program planning and evaluation across nonprofit and public settings.

Housing Families First Collaborative Holds First-Ever Meeting | SSF and leaders from numerous important community organizations convened at the Rose Family Creative Empowerment Center to establish the Housing Families First Collaborative (HFFC), aiming to strategically address family homelessness in Sacramento County through system-level approaches, improved access to services and housing, racial equity, and data analytics. They built community, clarified commitments, established roles, deepened understanding, and identified next steps towards their shared vision of reducing and ending family homelessness in Sacramento. Save the Date for the Next SHPC Meeting | The next Sacramento Homeless Policy Council (SHPC) meeting will be held on August 4, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. over Zoom. The SHPC is a forum designed to bring together our elected leaders and the CoC four times a year to engage in strategic discussions that advance solutions to our region’s homelessness crisis. As with prior SHPC meetings, they are open to the public in listening-mode only. The registration for the meeting link will be included in our July newsletter, and it will also be posted to the webpage below once available. | |

YDHP RFP Process Complete | The Sacramento YHDP RFP process has ended. We wanted to thank our youth action board (YAB) for all their hard work to get us to this point. We especially want to acknowledge the youth with lived expertise’s role in developing the Consolidated Community Plan, the RFP, and their deliberations on the selection of recipients. The YAB had to make some tough decisions as there were nearly double the funding requests as we had in funds to give out. Weather Response Request for Qualifications
The Sacramento County Department of Homeless Services and Housing has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for weather response for persons experiencing homelessness. This RFQ is now open for submissions. The deadline is July 14th 2023 at 5:00PM.
