This is the fifth consecutive year RTD commissioned the surveys to gauge customer satisfaction and community perceptions about the agency. | | RTD safety tech showcased in video with CBO, FBI | | Ever wonder how your travel via RTD and technology are connected? RTD teamed up with the Colorado Broadband Office and FBI to spotlight how live look-in cameras on its vehicles support customer and operator safety. The three-minute “Broadband for Safety” video explains how RTD uses cameras to hear audio and view video to immediately gain insights for RTD’s first responders. RTD began installing the live look-in software in early 2023 for use in emergency situations. | | | Latest steel arch installation highlights East Colfax BRT progress | | | | RTD, the City and County of Denver, and project partners continue to advance the East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, with active construction now underway between Broadway and Fairfax Street. A key milestone will be reached in July, as crews shift operations to the north side of Colfax, marking the start of Phase 2 for Segment 1 (Broadway to Williams Street). The 21-foot-tall, 87-foot-long steel arches will serve as striking visual landmarks and shaded canopies at BRT stations. This installation demonstrates continued momentum toward the 2027 BRT debut along one of Denver’s busiest corridors. | | New RTD security metrics offers transparent look at transit safety | | RTD is sharing a new security-related metrics page on its website as part of its continued commitment to enhancing customer and operator safety and transparency. In April 2025, RTD logged 3,077 security-related calls for service across 5.5 million boardings – the equivalent of one report for every 1,800 boardings, or 0.06%. Overall, year-over-year security-related calls dropped by 28%, while customer reports of illicit drug activity declined by 57% from June 2024 to June 2025. | | | RTD’s commuter rail services see increase since pandemic | | | | RTD’s commuter rail services saw the highest percentage change in total vehicle revenue hours following the pandemic according to a report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office. The analysis found most commuter rail systems are still working to regain pre-pandemic levels due to changes in commuting trends and work schedules. RTD, with its Zero Fare for Youth program, is one of five agencies in the study that now offer a no-cost youth fare program. RTD’s program focuses on increasing access and ridership by directly engaging with and appealing to a new generation of transit customers. | |

Besides being friendly and welcoming to all his customers, Jiru helped a customer identify the correct bus to board by showing the customer how to use RTD's Trip Planner and Next Ride app. Jiru was also chosen for his dedication to safety, making sure to go easy on the brakes and accelerator and waiting until customers are safely seated or standing, holding the handrails, before moving away from a stop. | | #DYK: Ride, rock, repeat: Next Ride app offers trip planning by concert name | | | | Plan routes to summer concerts with RTD’s Next Ride "search by event" feature that makes trip planning to local events easy.
