Triple V10 Power! |
This month brought us a seriously fun project! And when we say project, we mean it — because with 1,200 horsepower, 30 spark plugs, and 30 quarts of oil, this is no quick service job.
Our team completed 100-hour services on triple Mercury V10 400HP Verados. These engines are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason — they’re absolute monsters. |
We kicked things off by draining all three engines of oil (10 quarts each!) and flushing the gear oil from every lower unit. Once everything was topped off with fresh fluids, it was time for plugs. To reach the last set, the side shrouds had to come off — no small task. |
From there, we hooked each engine up to the computer, checked for codes, and made sure the software was fully up to date. After completing the 100-hour checklist, we ran the engines to temp, confirmed fluid levels, and did one final inspection.
Now she’s ready to head back to the water, with the owner running those triple V10s in full confidence.

QUESTION & ANSWER |
QUESTION: When should I repair scratches in my gelcoat? Can it wait until the end of the season? |
ANSWER: We get this question all the time. Some boaters want scratches fixed right away, while others don’t mind waiting. The truth is, it depends on the type and location of the damage.
• If it’s only in the gelcoat and the fiberglass underneath is intact, you can usually wait until the end of the season.
• If the fiberglass is compromised, water can get in and make things worse—those repairs should be done immediately.
• Damage below the waterline should always be addressed right away to prevent water intrusion.
• Scratches above the waterline may not look great but can typically be repaired after the season. |
Many of our customers wait until the offseason to take care of multiple scratches at once. Keep in mind, as your boat ages, the gelcoat color may fade, making it harder to match perfectly. That might be a reason to repair sooner rather than later.
If you’re unsure, give us a call here at Lynnhaven Marine. We’ll be happy to give you an accurate quote and get your boat looking like new again. |

UPGRADE YOUR RIDE & HELP THE ENVIRONMENT WITH SUZUKI’S NEW 4-4-2 PROGRAM |
At Lynnhaven Marine, we’re always looking for ways to bring our customers the best in marine technology while also taking care of our waterways. That’s why we’re excited to share Suzuki Marine’s 4-4-2 promotion—a program designed to help boaters upgrade to cleaner, more fuel-efficient 4-stroke outboards while responsibly removing old 2-stroke engines from the water.
Suzuki Marine USA introduced this initiative at the Minneapolis Boat Show, and now it’s rolling out nationwide. Here’s how it works:
• Trade in your old 2-stroke outboard (any brand, any condition).
• Get an exclusive discount on a Suzuki 4-stroke outboard.
• Your old engine will be scrapped or recycled, and the money from the process will be donated to an environmental organization. |
Not only do you get a great deal on a reliable, clean-burning Suzuki 4-stroke, but you’ll also be doing your part to improve the health of our lakes, rivers, and oceans.
