First-ever Volunteer Fun Day attracts over 60 volunteers

Over 60 volunteers gathered at Oak Canyon Nature Center to help beautify the park on Saturday, October 5.

Volunteers participated in activities from painting trash cans and benches, to planting butterfly friendly plants at the Butterfly Garden, to light fence building and trail clearing.

Guests and volunteers also were able to enjoy the expo area with Anaheim community partners and a free BBQ lunch by the Anaheim Firefighters Association.

Anaheim Night at the Honda Center
We celebrated “City of Anaheim Night” at the Honda Center on October 5. It was an honor to join Wild Wing, Ducks EVP/COO Tim Ryan and my council colleagues on the ice as we commemorated our city’s founding in 1857.

It was truly an awesome night, complete with a win against the San Jose Sharks.

Anaheim Manufacturing Day
On Friday, October 4 I attended Anaheim’s Manufacturing Day at Reborn Cabinets. We recognized the manufacturing industry and those members of our business community who are supporting youth in our city who want to pursue careers in the industry.
Anaheim First Town D6 Hall
The East Anaheim Community Center room was filled with over 130 residents who came to give their feedback on the needs of their District 6 neighborhoods Wednesday, October 2. Thank you to all those who attended.

Your recommendations will help the city invest millions directly into neighborhoods as part of the 2030 Neighborhood Investment Program, proposed by Mayor Harry Sidhu and unanimously supported by the Anaheim City Council.
