This fall, CRS completed an important milestone: the development of our 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, shaped by board members and volunteer leaders. I am excited to share a brief overview of where we are headed, and how you can be part of this momentum.
During our strategic planning session, leaders spoke candidly about the challenges facing radiology today: declining membership across medical societies, financial pressures, consolidation, and the need to clearly demonstrate value to busy radiologists. At the same time, the room was filled with optimism. We saw tremendous opportunity to reenergize membership, modernize how we communicate, strengthen our advocacy presence, and ensure CRS remains the trusted voice of radiology in California.
Across these areas, CRS adopted four core goals for the next three years:
-
Modernize CRS’s digital presence to better serve members; revamp the website; simplify navigation; highlight membership value with coordinated outreach.
-
Redesign the CRS committee structure to increase member involvement; establish clear pathways for participation; include a social media and communications committee.
-
Strengthen membership stability and growth by clarifying value and targeting outreach across career stages. (Growth in paying members of 5% over the next 3 years).
-
Diversify and grow revenue streams, including vendor support and new opportunities, while maintaining responsible budgets.
But none of this can happen without member engagement.
If you’ve ever thought about joining a committee, helping with advocacy, contributing to communications, or getting more involved with ACR efforts, this is the perfect time.
To move these goals from ideas to action, we will need a champion or lead for each area. If you’re interested in stepping into one of these roles or learning more, please email me at kpeyser@amgroup.us.
I want to extend a big thank you to all who contributed their time, ideas, and energy to this process. Together, we are strengthening the society that represents and protects radiology in California.
