EPDP on the Temporary Specification for
gTLD Registration Data
Update for Week of 26 November 2018

- The EPDP Team published its Initial Report on 21 November 2018. Please see this announcement for further information. Publication of an initial report is foreseen in the EPDP Team's charter and EPDP Manual.
- The EPDP Leadership chose to use a Google form as the format to receive public comments.
- This is a new format for collecting public comment. It seeks to:
- Clearly link comments to specific sections of the initial report
- Encourage commenters to provide reasoning or rationale for their opinions
- Enable the sorting of comment so that the EPDP team can more easily read all the comments on any one topic
- As a reminder, the EPDP Team will hold its third F2F meeting from 16 – 18 January, 2019 in Toronto, Canada. More information regarding the venue and logistics will be communicated to the EPDP Team as soon as available.
- The EPDP Team will hold a webinar on Thursday, 29 November at 14:00 UTC. The webinar will provide an overview of the Initial Report as well as more information on how to submit public comments. If you would like to sign up for the webinar, please email gnso-secs@icann.org.
- The October version of the EPDP Fact Sheet was also made available. 66% of the overall budget has been spent and/or committed.

During the period the Initial Report is out for public comment, the EPDP will resume the deliberations on several outstanding items. The EPDP Team has roughly two months (taking into account winter holidays in several countries) to deliver a final report after reviewing input received during public comments. This time constraint doesn’t allow for any slack in the timeline.
