EPDP on the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data Update for Week of 31 December 2018

WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK?

Overview The EPDP Team received a total of 42 unique submissions on its Initial Report. Nine ICANN community groups commented on the Initial Report, including Supporting Organizations, Advisory Committees, and Stakeholder Groups and Constituencies in the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO). In addition, 33 submissions came from external companies and organizations, as well as individuals. The EPDP Team has begun its review of the comments received using the Public Comment Review Tool prepared by support staff. As a reminder, the EPDP Team will hold its third F2F meeting from 16 – 18 January, 2019 in Toronto, Canada. The F2F will take place at The Westin Harbour Castle, and the EPDP Team will continue reviewing public comments in preparation of its final report.

Risk

The EPDP team started the process of reviewing public comments. The input received, and proposals can be diverging and/or bringing proposals already discussed. The EPDP team faces the challenge to review all comments, give them due consideration and resolving contentions and open issues within a tight schedule and without slack time. The F2F meeting is a critical milestone regarding the comments review and report amendments. Any delay in those deliberations will impact the timeline.

The EPDP Team will continue discussing public comment received, the order of which is in discussion with the EPDP Team.
