June Webinar:
Nonprofit Program Evaluation
Tuesday, June 22nd

Join us for this webinar on program evaluation designed to increase your love of the process, decrease the overwhelm, and help you leverage your findings. Webinar will be led by Helena Van Voorst of United Way of Addison County and Sarah Audet of Hedgehog + Fox Collaborative, LLC.
June Networking Mixer
Thursday, June 17th
5:30 - 7:00pm

Please join us for our June in person mixer at the Strong House Inn in Vergennes! There's plenty of space to spread out for some great networking and catching up. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar available as well as networking opportunities, door prizes, and the Pot of Gold drawing. Small group tours of the Inn will also be available. 

Chamber Mixer a Success
We had beautiful weather for our May mixer at Common Ground Center in Starksboro. Over 30 people attended, including several board members from the center. Tours of the facilities were also enjoyed by attendees.

Adam Rainville and John Gallagher, both from Maple Landmark, won the gift bags of Common Ground Center goodies, and the Pot of Gold winner was Bread Loaf Corporation, but unfortunately they were not in attendance.

Bryn Meadow Studio - Elysabethe James is a professional artist who does watercolors, acrylics and pen drawings. She also does pen drawings of buildings and scenes that can be framed or placed on promotional cups and tee shirts. Private lessons are available.

The Red Cross is celebrating their 140th Anniversary.

StoneyHill Properties and Addison County Community Trust have worked out an arrangement to support the building of affordable housing on a portion of their land next to the Bristol Fire Station.

Vergennes Residential has final approval to expand their facilities with a new building and the renovation of their current historical building.

Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center Community Dialogue Meetings
The Addison County career center is updating their mission and vision and they want to hear from anyone who lives and/or works in the county. Please consider attending one of two virtual meetings (June 3 or 8) to help them examine the current value of the career center and your hopes for its future. Local Food & Farm Guide
ACORN has just release the 2021 Champlain Valley Local Food and Farm Guide into the community this week. Published in partnership with The Addison Independent, the 11th guide is our longest yet at 72 pages, and the first edition to be published in 100% color. 
National Trails Day
National Trails Day is June 5th, and the TAM trails in Otter View Park are in need of some TLC. They have two fabulous projects to tackle in Otter View Park: poison parsnip removal and putting linseed oil on the boardwalk.

Public Feedback Meeting for LINK and Vergennes Transit

Tri-Valley Transit (TVT) invites public feedback on proposed changes to the LINK Express route to Burlington and the in-county Tri-Town Vergennes Shuttle.

Proposed changes for both routes will take effect on July 1 and public feedback will be considered thru June 10th.

What Lies Beneath Lake Champlain
Boat Tours Highlight Dozens of Archaeological Sites 

Boat tours aboard the Carillon will run Tuesday-Sunday May 28-mid-October. The 60-foot boat is available for daily tours, field trips, sunset cruises, and charters. Tickets for the boat cruise are available online at fortticonderoga.org or on site during a visit on a first-come basis. Boat tours are available rain or shine.
Red Cross Volunteers
Lisa Fitzgerald of the American Red Cross recognized Middlebury Park & Recreation's Scott Bourne, Program Coordinator and Board Chair Greg Boglioli on May 19th as extraordinary Blood Program Partners who stood with the American Red Cross during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They will also be recognizing Middlebury Legion, Middlebury Congregational Church, Jesus Christ Church of Latter-day Saints, Counseling Center of Addison County, Victory Baptist Ministries, Assembly of God Christian Church, and St. Peter's Catholic Church.

The FCC posted a new consumer FAQ on the Emergency Broadband Benefit. The FAQ provides answers to common questions on benefit eligibility, how the discount will be applied to broadband service costs, and program length. It also includes information on the enhanced Tribal benefit and the connected device benefit. 

West Central Vermont CEDS Workshop #1 - Help shape future economic development efforts in Addison County and Vermont!
