Save the Date: 2024 Sacramento Point-In-Time Count

On Wednesday, January 24 and Thursday, January 25, we will need hundreds of volunteers to help us count and survey people experiencing homelessness in as many zones as possible across the Sacramento region. Expanding our geographic coverage from previous Point-In-Time (PIT) Counts will enable our community to achieve a more accurate tally of unsheltered individuals.

The volunteer sign-up portal will be live soon and will be available at the link below.

Sacramento Coordinated Access System Officially Launched!

The Coordinated Access System (CAS), which matches the most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness with appropriate resources, has officially been launched. CAS can now connect homeless individuals and families to emergency shelters in addition to other resources.

As of October 31, 2023, we have also launched a brand-new online hub with CAS information and resources. This includes an expanded Frequently Asked Questions section, a Standards Manual, an Updates and Reports portal, a feedback tool, and much more. Our website now also features in-site translation to over 100 languages.

Data and Analytics: Updated Standards Released

Every two years the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sends out an update to all Continuum of Care providers across the nation to get input on the data collected and reported to the federal government. The 2024 HMIS Data Standards are now live and we've been updating HMIS to be in compliance. This year's release has a lot of changes designed to enhance accuracy, inclusivity, and reporting capabilities. There are updates to the client profile, the program enrollment process, program exit screens, and more!

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

The new season is showing an increase in flu and COVID-19 cases across our community. The CDC strongly recommends that everyone 6 months and older receive the updated COVID-19 vaccine. This booster will help protect against the latest variants. You can take advantage of Sacramento County Public Health’s free vaccination clinics that are being expanded to more fire stations, libraries, and schools. While walk ins are welcome, scheduling MyTurn appointments are encouraged. This will help to make sure that these clinics are well-resourced. Share the word!
