2026 Annual Awards Gala

This year's Outstanding Neigbor of the Year Honorees are: Dana Ritrovato-Brighton, YWCA Greater Capital Region and Joe Peralta, Community Access. The Network’s Gala is the premier networking event for New York’s supportive housing community — a celebration of our collective accomplishments, a recognition of outstanding leaders, and an inspiration for the future of this vital work. The Network’s Executive Director Pascale Leone Honored at Homeless and Travelers Aid Society Sunflower Breakfast
On September 24th, the Network’s Executive Director Pascale Leone was honored at Homeless and Travelers Aid Society’s (HATAS) Sunflower Breakfast as one of the 2026 Champions in Compassion. Other honorees included Cannon Heyman & Weiss, Broadview Federal Credit Union, Sheriff Craig Apple and the Sheriff’s Homeless Improvement Program, and KeyBank’s Tamika Otis.

Breaking Ground Opens Sutphin Senior Housing and Clinic
On September 24th, Breaking Ground joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the opening of Sutphin Senior Housing and Clinic.The 15-story building also includes a state-of-the-art health center operated by Community Healthcare Network, bringing medical services directly to residents and the surrounding community. Located in Jamaica, Queens this new affordable and supportive housing residence is creating 173 apartments, including 52 supportive for older adults. On-site support services are provided by Breaking Ground and are funded by NYC 15/15 and administered through the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Comunilifie Opens El Hogar
On September 3rd, Comunilife joined Governor Hochul, project partners and elected officials to celebrate the opening of El Hogar. Located in the Bronx, this new affordable and supportive housing residence is creating 83 apartments for older adults, including 50 supportive for older adults experiencing homelessness. On-site support services are provided by Comunilife and are funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) and administered by the NYS Department of Health.
