The Supportive Housing Network of NY extends its deepest gratitude to Carole Coppens for her decades of extraordinary leadership, unwavering advocacy, and enduring commitment to the supportive housing movement. We congratulate Carole on her well-earned retirement as Executive Director of YWCA of Binghamton & Broome County and from her service on the Network’s Board of Directors.

The Network Concludes Year Three of its Safety & Well-Being Initiative


On July 23, the Network celebrated the successful completion of the third year of its 2026 Safety & Well-Being Training Series and Community of Practice (CoP). This year’s cohort brought together 24 agencies, provided training to 902 unique staff members, and supported 30 staff through the CoP.

The Network Joins National Alliance to End Homeless for its Annual Conference and Capitol Hill Day


On July 8-10th, The Network was proud to participate in the National Alliance to End Homelessness 2026 Conference and Capitol Hill Day.

FY27 City Adopted Budget Summary


On June 30th, Mayor Mamdani and the New York City Council reached an agreement on the Fiscal Year 2027 Adopted Budget, with the Council approving a $125.8 billion spending plan. The adopted budget is approximately $1.1 billion above the FY27 Executive Budget.

YWCA of Binghamton and Broome County Opens Hooper Road Apartments


On July 8th, YWCA of Binghamton and Broome County joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the opening of a new affordable and supportive residence, Hooper Road Apartments.

Community Services for Every1 Breaks Ground on The Nest


On July 7th, Community Services for Every1 joined project partners and elected officials to break ground on The Nest. Once complete, this new affordable and supportive residence will bring 73 apartments, including 21 supportive for survivors of domestic violence to downtown Niagara Falls.

West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing Opens Fischer Senior Apartments


On June 9th, West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing (WSFSSH) joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the opening of a new affordable and supportive residence, Fischer Senior Apartments. Located in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, this new residence is creating 105 affordable apartments, including 59 supportive for formerly homeless adults. On-site services are provided by WSFSSH funded by NYC 15/15 administered through New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Every year, the Supportive Housing Network of New York honors 1-2 supportive housing tenants at our Annual Awards Gala who have demonstrated leadership, personal growth, and made a positive impact on their supportive housing and/or wider community. The nomination deadline is Friday, August 21st!
