Mayor Adams and City Council Reach Deal on $115.9 Billion FY26 Adopted Budget


On June 30th, City Council voted to approve the $115.9 billion FY26 Adopted Budget up from $112.4 billion in the FY25 Adopted Budget, and increased from $114.5 billion proposed in the FY26 Preliminary Budget.

The Network Hosts its 23rd Annual New York Supportive Housing Conference


On June 6th, over 2,000 registrants joined the Network for its 23rd Annual New York State Supportive Housing Conference. The conference featured 24 panels with experts sharing updates and best practices and tools for providers in supportive housing including findings from the Network’s second State of Supportive housing report, partnering with faith-based organizations to develop housing, best practices on addressing rental arrears, using occupational therapy as an engagement tool, conflict mediation skills, ways to utilize harm reduction programs and resources and the healing powers of the arts.

The State of Supportive Housing 2025


The Network released its second annual State of Supportive Housing – a look at tenant demographics and a comprehensive overview of the landscape of supportive housing statewide. The report includes the first exploration into supportive housing tenant demographics, including race, ethnicity, age, and gender, as well as the number of existing units, types (congregate, scattered site), programs available, populations served, geographic distribution (by region and county), and financial structure/rates.

Mayor Adams Announces NYC 15/15 Reallocation

We are pleased to share that the Mayor has announced a $46 million investment to reallocate resources from the unawarded NYC 15/15 scattered-site units toward the development and preservation of 5,850 supportive housing units in the NYC 15/15 initiative. While the broad commitment to reallocation has been announced, the specifics are still being finalized.

The Network Testifies at the New York City Council Committee on Contracts

On April 29th, Network Director of Policy and Advocacy Tierra Labrada testified at the New York City Council Committee on Contracts oversight hearing examining late payments to human service providers on the need to address underlying structural issues within the PASSPort system. Tierra stressed that supportive housing providers routinely begin delivering services to tenants before contracts are registered or payments are received.

The Network Joins Intro 1100 Rally and Testifies at the New York City Council Committee on Criminal Justice Hearing

On April 16th, the Network joined NYC Council Member Carlina Rivera, the Fortune Society, Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) and the Close Rikers campaign for a Jail is Not a Home rally in support of two pieces of legislation: Intro 1100 which expands access to supportive housing for people impacted by the criminal legal system and Resolution 371 which would provide money to incarcerated individuals upon release. In addition, rally speakers called for oversight of the Independent Rikers Commission's Blueprint to Close Rikers pushing back on delays and demanding real investment in alternatives that will pave the way to a smaller jail population and healthier and safer communities.

Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services Opens Village Grove Apartments


On June 17th, project partners and supporters gathered to celebrate the opening of Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services’ (INHS) Village Grove Apartments, a new affordable and supportive housing residence in the Village of Trumansburg, New York. The two-story elevator building and two townhome buildings provide 46 homes including seven for veterans, and three for survivors of domestic violence. On-site services are provided by the Salvation Army Ithaca Corps and the Advocacy Center, funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA). The project also provided funding to build the Trumansburg Community Nursery School.

Volunteers of America-Greater New York Opens YP Senior Residence

On June 3rd, friends and supporters gathered to celebrate the opening of Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY) YP Senior Residence in the Morris Heights neighborhood of the Bronx. The 117-unit apartment building provides 37 homes to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. On-site services are provided by Volunteers of America-Greater New York funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Department of Health.

New Destiny Opens Lily House


On Wednesday May 28th, friends, staff and partners celebrated the re-opening of New Destiny’s Lily House a former shelter turned supportive housing for 30 domestic violence survivors and their families. Services at the newly rehabbed Lily House are provided by New Destiny’s Family Support Program funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) under the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA).

Jericho Project and HELP USA Open Logan Fountain


On May 13th, Jericho Project, HELP USA and the Hudson Companies, joined project partners and supporters to celebrate the opening of a new affordable, supportive and transitional housing residence, Logan Fountain. This new building is creating 173 new affordable apartments, including 105 supportive, in Brooklyn's Cypress Hills neighborhood. Additionally, it will provide 169 units of transitional housing run by HELP USA. Jericho Project will provide the on-site services to supportive housing tenants funded by NYC 15/15 administered by NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH).

WellLife Breaks Ground on Medford Gardens


On April 15th, WellLife Network joined project partners to break ground on Medford Gardens. Once complete this affordable and supportive housing residence will bring 66 affordable apartments, including 33 supportive, to Brookhaven in Suffolk County. Onsite services will be provided by WellLife Network, funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Department of Mental Health.
