2022 Tenant of the Year Nominee Celebration
On Friday, January 13th the Network joined tenants nominated for the Network’s 2022 Outstanding Tenant of the Year award with supportive housing staff at HELP USA’s headquarters.

RESH Celebrates its First RELISH Cohort Graduation
On December 16th, the Racial Equity in Supportive Housing (RESH) Workgroup graduated its first class of participants in its Readying Emerging Leaders in Supportive Housing (RELISH) mentorship program.

The Network Joins CCIT-NYC for "Community Care, Not Coercion" Rally
On December 20th, the Network joined Correct Crisis Intervention Today (CCIT-NYC) outside Governor Hochul's Manhattan office for a “Community Care, Not Coercion” rally, urging the Governor to invest in comprehensive community care services and reject Mayor Adams’ directive to increase the traumatizing use of coercion and police.

RiseBoro Community Partnership and Services for the UnderServed Break Ground on Alafia Phase I
On December 19th, RiseBoro Community Partnership and Services for the UnderServed (S:US) joined development partners and elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of Alafia Phase I in East New York, Brooklyn. Phase I of Alafia will create 452 affordable apartments, including 136 supportive housing units. On-site services are provided by S:US funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health and the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPDD).

Jericho Project and HELP USA Break Ground on Logan Fountain
On December 14th, Hudson Companies, Jericho Project and HELP USA joined development partners and elected officials to break ground on Logan Fountain, a new mixed-use development, supportive and affordable residence and shelter, in East New York. When complete, the eastern wing will create 174 new affordable apartments, including 105 supportive for formerly homeless individuals.

Housing Visions and Behavioral Health Services North, Inc. Open Northwoods
On December 13th, Housing Visions and Behavioral Health Services North, Inc. (BHSN) joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the opening of a new affordable and supportive housing residence, Northwoods. Located in the Town of Plattsburgh, Northwoods has created 80 units of affordable housing, including 40 supportive housing units. BHSN will provide onsite services funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) through New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH).

Project Renewal Breaks Ground on Bedford Green House Phase II
On a brisk December 9th, Project Renewal joined project partners, funders and elected officials to break ground on Bedford Green House Phase II. When completed, this residence will create 116 new affordable apartments, 70 supportive, in Fordham Heights in the Bronx. Project Renewal will provide onsite services funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) through the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH).

The Network Hosts a Referral Request Queue (RRQ) NetWorkshop with NYC Human Resources Administration
On Thursday, December 15th The Network joined NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) for a training for supportive housing providers on the new Referral Request Queue (RRQ).

On December 15th, Urban Pathways and Care For the Homeless hosted their annual Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day observance to honor New Yorkers who passed away in 2022 while unstably housed or due to the stressors of homelessness. They have co-hosted this memorial since 2016, and this year’s remembrance was the first held in-person since 2019.
