Let us now pray for God’s blessings in the new year.

The Catholic Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts is here to aid you in your charitable giving and we encourage you to reach out to us to learn more about ways to support your parish, a Catholic school, or other ministry in our diocese. With your involvement and with faith as our guide, together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of so many.
Planned Giving Seminar held at
St. John the Evangelist, Attleboro

St. John Evangelist Parish and the Catholic Foundation co-hosted a special seminar on "End of Life Considerations and Planning in the Catholic Faith," this past November. The evening covered topics including end of life planning within the Catholic faith, avenues available for leaving a legacy, and information about next steps in estate planning and the Anima Christi Legacy Society. Fr. Craig Pregana led the panel with Mim Sherman, CEO of the Catholic Foundation, and Attorney Jane Coogan.
Endow Today for the Future

If you could make just one gift that would continue to benefit your parish or a specific ministry each year for for many years to come – would you do it?

When you endow your gift, you are instructing that your donation be invested on your behalf, to generate earnings from your donation this year and for every year to come – benefitting your parish or selected ministry forever! Permanently-endowed donations are wisely invested for maximum total return. That growth translates to improved financial sustainability for our Catholic parishes and ministries in the Diocese of Fall River.

Foundation to Advance Catholic Education (FACE) Fall Scholarship Dinner Success

Through the dedication and commitment of the Fall Scholarship Dinner Committee led by John Feitelberg, President of HUB International, and Janna Lafrance, of Lafrance Hospitality, more than $300,000 was raised in support of FACE student scholarships!

Award-winning guest speaker and performer Matt Maher was a special treat for all attendees. Matt shared some inspirational words about the background for some of his songs as well as the roots of his faith and his connections to this part of the country. His performance included “Lord, I Need You,” “Your Grace is Enough,” and “My Brother’s Keeper.” Read more!

News from our Partners
During the last week of January, Catholic schools across the country celebrate Catholic Schools Week (January 30 - February 5, 2022).  This week every year is set aside to focus on the many aspects of Catholic education valued by families for decades: a robust and balanced academic curriculum that integrates faith, culture and life; the value of serving others; as well as preparing students to be productive citizens and future leaders. Each day presents a different theme in order to highlight the many facets that are touched by a Catholic education. Pope Francis has opened a worldwide synod and has called the entire Church to participate. Specifically, each diocese is asked to gather - clergy, religious and laity together - to listen to each other in a discussion on how the Church can better journey together. Whether called assemblies, consultations, or listening sessions, these synodal meetings are anticipated at parishes throughout the Fall River Diocese from now through April. Look for your opportunity to take part! As Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha writes in his recent Pastoral Letter, “This is an invitation to everyone…to be heard.” Visit Synod 2021-2023 to learn more.
