Thank you for taking a moment to read our latest newsletter. We’re kicking off this issue with a video message from Sheriff Massey, who reflects on 2025 and shares updates for 2026.

You’ll also find several opportunities to get involved with the Sheriff’s Office, including Search and Rescue for teens, the Reserve Deputy Program, and the Community Academy for adults—all with application deadlines approaching soon.

We’re also sharing details about an upcoming Coffee with a Cop event open to all community members, along with winter safety tips for the season ahead.

2026 Message from Sheriff Massey

Let’s Talk Over Coffee!

We’re excited to host a joint Coffee with a Cop with Hillsboro Police later this month.

These gatherings are all about community—no speeches, no agenda. Just a chance to meet with the deputies and officers who serve your neighborhoods, ask questions, share ideas, and enjoy a cup of coffee together.

Stay Safe This Winter

Winter calls for extra precautions and is a good reminder for us to stay safe and vigilant, no matter the time of year.

This winter, prepare for unexpected weather at home and on the road. Stay visible at all times, especially in low-visibility conditions, and follow these simple steps to help prevent vehicle theft.

🌨 Stay up to date on winter weather driving conditions. Check the forecast before heading out, avoid non-essential travel, and take necessary precautions.

🦺 Be safe and be seen at all times. Regardless of your manner of travel, stay alert.

🧥 Keep warm and safe during cold weather. Ensure you are equipped to handle the challenges of chilly days.

🚗Vehicle thefts are too common this time of year. Don’t allow thieves to break in or steal your car.

As always, call us if you need us! 🚓
