COVID-19 Statewide Update
[Bismarck Tribune] North Dakota health officials on Sunday, December 13, 2020 reported only 287 new cases of COVID-19, and no coronavirus-related deaths for the first time in almost three months.

The chairwoman of the North Dakota Medical Association’s Physician Advisory Group issued a statement Saturday thanking North Dakotans who have complied, noting the drop in active cases and also a decline in the 14-day rolling average positivity rate as calculated by the state from 15.6% on Nov. 14 to 8.5% on Dec. 10. The daily rate reported Sunday (Dec. 13) was 4.82%.

Coronavirus-related hospitalizations on December 13, 2020 dropped by 12, to 270. Hospitals in the state had 24 staffed intensive care unit beds and 313 non-ICU beds available, according to the most recent state data.

Happy Holidays!

A CHRISTMAS MESSGE TO OUR MEMBERS

This Christmas season let us remember the reason we all celebrate. While we take time to remember the gifts we are so thankful to receive, we should also take time to remember those less fortunate than us and take this opportunity to give back to our community.

The coming year holds the promise of new opportunities, along with challenges, and we will face them together as a unified force to improve the lives of the Lake Region.

Thank you for your investment in the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce and your commitment to growing the business climate of our region.

Without our members and community, there would be no Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce. There would be no consumer, audience, supporters, or residents with whom to connect. Thank you for your engagement and for making the Lake Region the location where you choose to work, to live and to support.

Wishing you all a joyful Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Executive Director

Cookies & Cocoa with the Chamber

On December 10, the Chamber of Commerce hosted the first Let It Glow Coffee, Cocoa and Cookies event at the Chamber parking lot. The event was hosted as a drive-thru, where families and individuals were able to order their choice of coffee or cocoa and a cookie. Over 300 cookies were served! Through this event, we were able to raise over $1,000 (!!) to divide and donate to two local charities: The Devils Lake Hope Center and the Devils Lake Salvation Army.

Trees for the Season
With a Reason to Give...
Together, with the help and support of local businesses, we were able to make the Christmas dreams of families in need come true.

The first year of Trees for the Season, with a Reason to Give’ was a success! With 8 participating businesses, we were able to provide 8 families with real Christmas trees that were purchased from Mark's Greenhouse and Floral.

Trees were delivered to businesses early December, where they were asked to decorate and display their tree. On December 17, with the help of some special elves (Devils Lake Fire Department), trees, along with the decorations, were picked up from businesses and delivered to the door steps of 8 families who were in need of a Christmas tree. It was an honor to give to families in need and this is a project we intend to continue with each year.

Thank you to the following businesses for their sponsorships to this years
