FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: JR KIES
Work is progressing nicely on the Roadrunner course. Verticutting and aerifying will begin in the coming weeks in preparation for the sprigging on the Roadrunner greens in June.
Desert Reflections (contractor) has begun work on the greenside bunkers. Shaping and capillary concrete (for drainage) will be completed prior to sprigging the greens.
Work continues on the Quail and Coyote courses in preparation for warmer temperatures when the cool-season grass will transition to the warm season Bermuda grass.
Slicing, fertilization, and a Saphire application on the tees and fairways will be done in May.
Portable sprinklers will be in use for some of the weaker turf areas throughout the day and will continue to be used during the summer months.
Foam inserts have been removed from the cups.
We will be mowing the fairways shorter to stimulate Bermuda grass growth.
All courses will be closed on June 24 for aerifying fairways.
