African American Inventors Exhibit
The City of South Fulton Parks and Recreation Department hosted the African-American Inventors Exhibit (AAIE) at Welcome All Park on February 2, 2019.

Hundreds came out to view the exhibition as part of their Black History Month Activities. The exhibit was sponsored in conjunction with Sheila Gray, an area resident who has a strong interest in promoting and sharing black history.

AAIE is a 26 item travelling exhibit that exposes visitors to various inventions by African Americans, cultivates conversation about how these inventions impact our society today, generates a desire for some to become entrepreneurs, and promotes new interest and an increased awareness of inventions by African Americans.
Free Health Screenings at Creel Park

The City of South Fulton, in partnership with Aniz Incorporated, provides free HIV and Hepatitus C screenings every Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Creel Park located at 2945 Burdett Road, College Park, GA 30349.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 13 percent of people infected with HIV in the United States are unaware of their infection – more than 161,200 people. The CDC also reports that in 2016, a total of 2,967 cases of acute hepatitis C were reported to CDC. Since many people may not have symptoms or don’t know they are infected, their illness is often not diagnosed or reported and therefore can’t be counted.

For questions about the free health screenings, contact Creel Park at 470-809-7184.
