We’ll identify some of the spring constellations, star clusters, and hear a star story. Bring your binoculars and a telescope if you have one.
Frogs and toads are a’calling and a’courting. Let’s listen and identify different amphibians by their call. What other spring critters will we hear? We’ll also look at stars and moon so bring your binoculars.

Let's Go Fly a Kite!
Hannibal Parks & Recreation is partnering with Hannibal- LaGrange University for the first Kite Festival 2-4 p.m. Sunday April 22 at HLGU Mabee Sports Comple
Participants are encouraged to bring their own kites or make a kite with the help of recreation management students
Kite assembly (supplies provided), will take place from 2-3PM in the Mabee Sports Complex
Kite flying will take place at the Blackwell Soccer Field from 3-4PM

Have you always wanted to be a Master Naturalist?
Here's your chance, the first Missouri Master Naturalist class in Hannibal begins June 9. Mandatory orientation will be 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at the Burt Administration Building on the Hannibal-LaGrange University campus, 2800 Palmyra Road in Hannibal.   • Pops Club Annual Spring Dance 7 p.m. Saturday April 14 at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. Beer wagon, snacks, music, raffles, tickets $15 at the door.
  • SC Faculty Showcase Concert: 2 p.m. April 15 at Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St. Faculty members from Culver-Stockton College’s Department of Music will be featured in a vocal and instrumental showcase. Performers featured in the Faculty Showcase are Dylan Marney, piano; Tom Polett, trombone; Mike Saul, horn; Trent Hollinger, saxophone; Scott Allison, tenor; Lisa Blake, mezzo-soprano; and Carol Mathieson, soprano. No admission fee.
  • Oakwood 5K Glow Run/Walk 7 p.m. April 20 at Sodalis Nature Preserve, raises money for playground at Oakwood Elementary School.
  • Eugene Field Block Party 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21. Music, food, games, raffles, with all proceeds to the Playground Project.
  • Great Girlfriend Getaway April 27-29 in downtown Hannibal. Check out the schedule here!

  • Session 1: June 18-22, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to noon at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center (pageant for parents 11:30 a.m. June 22) Birds, Bees, Butterflies, and Bats, ages 5-7
  • Session 2: July 16-20, Monday-Friday, 9: a.m. to noon at Hannibal Arts Council (Performance Friday, July 20 at 8 pm before the movie “Coco” at Huckleberry Park) Making Masks and Telling a Tale, for ages 8-12
