Dear ReadyNation Members,

In response to the evolving public health emergency resulting from the COVID-19 virus, ReadyNation and Council for a Strong America (CSA) staff will be teleworking in an effort to mitigate the spread and effects of the virus.

The telework policy will extend at least until March 27th, at which time we will evaluate whether continued social distancing is appropriate. In doing so, we will continue to rely on guidance from health officials, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In addition, we are implementing a no-travel policy through the end of April. All CSA-run events that require travel by our staff and/or members will be postponed indefinitely, and we will endeavor to use online/remote alternatives for all near-term activities where feasible.

The safety and health of our members and staff are of paramount concern to us, and we believe that these steps are in the best interests of all concerned, and in the best interests of our nation.

With that said, the important work of ensuring that the next generation of Americans have the best opportunity to grow up well-educated and prepared for productive lives is as crucial as ever. Our work to advocate on behalf of evidence-based policies that help kids while bolstering our workforce will continue in earnest. We recognize the urgent need for policymakers to address the public health emergency caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and we want to be mindful of this dynamic context as we assess when and how we continue with advocacy around our core issues.

Sincerely,

Nancy Fishman
