Old Westbury, N.Y. (August 2, 2022) - Some of New York’s most prestigious real estate professionals gathered on Monday, July 25th, for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) New York Real Estate Division 10th Annual Golf Outing at Glen Oaks Country Club in Old Westbury, N.Y. where they golfed, networked, and dined alongside soldiers who protect the State of Israel.
The daylong event at Glen Oaks honored Ofer Yardeni, CEO of Stonehenge NYC and FIDF national board member, and was co-chaired by Marty Burger, CEO of Silverstein Properties and Chuck Rosenzweig of Criterion Real Estate Capital. John Franco, a former American professional baseball player, was among the guests at the event.
“We are so proud to have honored Ofer at our 10th Annual Golf Outing. His leadership, vision, and drive have been integral to the success of the FIDF New York Real Estate Division and most importantly, the soldiers of the IDF,” said Andrew Feuerstein, Director of the New York Real Estate Division. “We are thankful to all of those who participated in the event”.
The Real Estate Division was created in 2006 by a group of successful business and philanthropic leaders who were passionate about uniting members of the real estate community to support the men and women who protect and defend the Jewish State. The division plays a central role in the activities of the FIDF Tri-State Region. Ofer Yardeni was a key member of the early group who got the branch off the ground. Since then, the division has helped support several key projects, including the construction of a well-being center at the IDF Revaya Base for the 188th Armored Brigade’s 71st battalion.
"I am humbled to have received this honor as a sixth generation Israeli who served in the IDF,” said Ofer Yardeni. “Once you are a solider, you are always a soldier and I feel it is my duty to continue to support the State of Israel and the Israeli soldiers. I’m grateful to FIDF for allowing me many opportunities to do so."
Guests at the Golf Outing included IDF soldiers Captain Ofir and Staff Sergeant Rom. Captain Ofir is a commander of the elite Snapir Unit of the Israeli Navy. A grandchild of Holocaust survivors, Ofir is the first female to ever command the Naval Combat unit, a unit tasked with securing Israel’s civilian and military northern ports. Staff Sergeant Rom currently serves in the elite Orev Unit of the Reconnaissance Battalion in the Golani Brigade. During a recent mission, his unit arrested the terrorist who provided the weapons for the recent Bnei Brak attacks where five innocent people were killed.
Other distinguished event guests included FIDF CEO, Steve Weil; FIDF National Director Major General (Res.), Nadav Padan and FIDF Vice President of the Northeast Region, Galit Brichta.
