A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE "MEAT & THREE"

The concept took off in the mid-1900s, especially in places like Tennessee and across the Carolinas, as family-owned cafés served comforting lunches to workers who wanted a fast, filling meal that tasted like home. You picked your protein—fried chicken, meatloaf, country ham—and rounded it out with three sides like mac and cheese, greens, cornbread, or mashed potatoes.

Much like real estate, the meat & three is all about location, comfort, and lasting value. Trends may come and go, but classics stick around for a reason—and this Southern staple is still serving up nostalgia, one plate at a time.

Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday with Chicken Wing Dip!

Super Bowl Sunday is almost here—February 9, 2026—and no game-day spread is complete without a crowd-pleasing favorite. This Chicken Wing Dip brings all the bold, saucy flavors everyone loves about wings into one creamy, scoopable dish that’s perfect for sharing. Easy to make and even easier to devour, it’s guaranteed to be a hit from kickoff to the final whistle.

INGREDIENTS:

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup hot pepper sauce
2 cups diced cooked chicken
1 cup ranch-style salad dressing
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix cream cheese and hot pepper sauce together in a medium bowl until well blended; stir in chicken, dressing, and Cheddar cheese.
Spread into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly, about 30 minutes. If oil collects on the top, dab it off using a paper towel.
Serve and enjoy!

Note: Substitute crumbly blue cheese or blue cheese dressing for the ranch for buffalo-style taste.
