The Impact and the Stories are Real

One story that touched us deeply was from missionary and team member Anna M. who shared an unforgettable encounter during our family outreach:

What Happens When You Visit the Person Who Broke Someone You Love?

Nine years ago, one missionary met a girl named Precious *—and her warmth and quiet strength quickly made her unforgettable. Last year, during camp, Precious boldly shared her story: a journey marked by pain, abandonment, and God's unshakable faithfulness. This year, the same missionary found herself face-to-face with Precious' father—the very man who had once let her down. What followed was a powerful moment of unexpected grace, prayer, and redemption.

Empowering and Encouraging Families.

When we returned to Uganda this summer for our 2nd Annual Summer Camp, we knew it would be special—but what unfolded went far beyond summer camp.

Before camp the missionaries intentionally reached out to families we serve in their homes and communities. We walked down red-dirt roads and stepped into the lives of the families behind the smiling faces of our sponsored children.

  • Twenty home visits.
  • Twenty families.
  • Countless children.
  • Endless moments of connection.

Real People. Real Struggles. Real Hope.

Our team sat under the Uganda sun with the families and homes where our sponsored children live. We prayed with mothers making bricks by hand to feed their children. We listened as fathers shared the quiet strength it takes to raise a family without consistent work or clean water. And still, we saw hope—radiating through each story.

Each family received a care package with food staples—enough to feed them for about a month. But what they valued just as much as the food was our presence. The dignity of being seen. Heard. Encouraged. And in return the missionaries were the ones blessed most of all by the loving families we met.

Empowerment Through Education.

Supporting a child’s education doesn’t just change that child’s future—it lifts the entire family. When a child goes to school with the support of Hands of Love:

  • Parents can redirect limited income to essentials like food or rent.
  • Families grow in self-confidence, knowing someone believes in their child’s potential.
  • Communities start to see a path out of poverty—one child at a time.

" But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.ā€

Acts 1:8

Join Us in This Mission

This trip reminded us: It’s not about programs. It’s about people. When you donate to Hands of Love, you’re doing more than sponsoring a child—you’re uplifting entire families. Will you help us continue this work? Your gift goes directly toward education, food security, and holistic family support.
