Empowering and Encouraging Families.
When we returned to Uganda this summer for our 2nd Annual Summer Camp, we knew it would be specialābut what unfolded went far beyond summer camp.
Before camp the missionaries intentionally reached out to families we serve in their homes and communities. We walked down red-dirt roads and stepped into the lives of the families behind the smiling faces of our sponsored children.
- Twenty home visits.
- Twenty families.
- Countless children.
- Endless moments of connection.
Real People. Real Struggles. Real Hope.
Our team sat under the Uganda sun with the families and homes where our sponsored children live. We prayed with mothers making bricks by hand to feed their children. We listened as fathers shared the quiet strength it takes to raise a family without consistent work or clean water. And still, we saw hopeāradiating through each story.
Each family received a care package with food staplesāenough to feed them for about a month. But what they valued just as much as the food was our presence. The dignity of being seen. Heard. Encouraged. And in return the missionaries were the ones blessed most of all by the loving families we met.
Empowerment Through Education.
Supporting a childās education doesnāt just change that childās futureāit lifts the entire family. When a child goes to school with the support of Hands of Love:
- Parents can redirect limited income to essentials like food or rent.
- Families grow in self-confidence, knowing someone believes in their childās potential.
-
Communities start to see a path out of povertyāone child at a time.
