Join the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance at our monthly meeting as we welcome Nadine Horner from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Nadine brings a wealth of management experience in working with nonprofit organizations. Nadine will present a "best practices" approach to harnessing the potential
your board holds as your organization strives to achieve its mission.
Nadine Horner, MBA, CAE is the External Relations Officer for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Before moving to Livermore in 2001, Nadine worked in Washington, D.C., for more than 15 years, including as a Director for the American Society of Association Executives, the leading organization for nonprofit management in the country. Nadine holds a Masters of Business Administration and is also a Certified Association Executive, achieved by passing a rigorous written examination in 1998 and re-certifying every 3 years in 10 competency areas of nonprofit management. Nadine has directed and served on many national, state and local nonprofit boards, including those for diverse Tri-Valley organizations and the Laboratory. Nadine served as the 2014 President of the LLNL Women's Association, representing more than 2000 women on issues of equal pay and roles in leadership.

It's Party Time: TVNA Turns One Year Old!
Celebrate TVNA's First Anniversary with us this March at our monthly meeting...
yes, it's been a whole year since the TVNA Team flung open the doors and welcomed nonprofit organizations of all types and sizes from throughout the Tri-Valley and beyond, jump-starting the creation of a nonprofit alliance whose aim was to support, educate and collaborate with each other.
The results of those efforts have far exceeded our expectations and we are simply delighted with the richly rewarding experiences that have resulted from TVNA's programs, outreach and collaboration with local organizations and businesses. It is our honor to serve over 100 nonprofit organizations (so far!) and the hundreds of people who work or volunteer for a diverse set of organizations.
Join us for our first anniversary celebration including an enlightening lecture, great networking, door prizes and much more! Along with Nadine Horner as our guest lecturer, we also welcome
, Branch Operations Director for the YMCA, representing our featured organization during the monthly Nonprofit Showcase. TVNA Showcase opportunities are made available to organizations whose staff, board directors or volunteers attend in person and place a business card in our drawing held at the end of each meeting.
And... The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance would especially like to thank The Fannie and John Hertz Foundation for their generosity in providing the board room to host our monthly meetings over the last year!

As TVNA moves into its second year, we are committed to providing resources, education and networking opportunities to the dedicated people who work and volunteer for nonprofit organizations in Tri-Valley and beyond. Throughout the year, TVNA will focus on "Strengthening our Core in 2015" as we explore core areas of support in marketing and advertising, fundraising and capacity development, programs and impact, and much more.

The mission of the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance is to provide nonprofit organizations with opportunities to meet, collaborate and share resources, strengthening each other as they work to raise community awareness and strive to achieve their missions.
Start-up funding is always appreciated; however, we are currently working towards applying for official nonprofit status with the IRS.
