Safe Sport and how you can help

The Flying Fish swim team is in the process of renewing Safe Sport certification, which is a designation from USA Swimming that reflects our commitment to a safe, positive environment for all.

You can help by participating in a brief -- 20-30 minutes -- online training.

In order to renew our certification, we need at least 15 percent of FF parents and 15 percent of FF athletes ages 13-17 to complete this training.

Why do the online training?

In addition to helping renew our certification:

  • You'll expand your thinking and possibly learn something new.
  • You'll feel good about yourself for being a team-oriented swimmer or parent.
  • You can do something productive while you sit in the lobby waiting.
  • We'll give you some FF merch (t-shirt, magnet or water bottle) if you let us know you completed the training.

How to do the online training

  • Parents (with swimmers of any age) and athletes ages 13-17 can access the training at any time through USA Swimming University.

  • You'll need to log in to your USA Swimming account first. If you're new to the team and don't have your USA Swimming membership yet, get your membership first and then complete the training.

  • The parents' online training is called "Parents Guide to Misconduct in Sport."

  • The training for youth athletes ages 13-17 is called "Safe Sport for Youth Athletes (13-17)."

Thank you for helping uphold our commitment to Safe Sport and providing a welcoming, secure environment for all. We would appreciate all trainings being done by September 25.
