Top 10 Tips for a Low Stress Holiday Season

Write out your calendar as early as you can.

Getting your plans on paper or in your phone early can take a lot of pressure off. It’s easier to breathe when you can see what’s coming instead of feeling like everything hits at once. Even a rough outline helps you pace yourself and save a little space for rest.

Create a spending plan.

Money stress can sneak up fast this time of year. Jotting down a quick budget, nothing fancy, can help keep surprise expenses to a minimum. Giving yourself a few boundaries isn’t restrictive; it’s protective. It’s one less thing buzzing around in the back of your mind.

Don’t be afraid to say “no thank you.”

You don’t have to say yes to everything. If an event already feels exhausting just thinking about it, it’s perfectly okay to pass. Protecting your peace matters, and the people who care about you will understand. Save your energy for what genuinely fills you up this holiday season.0

Let go of perfection and embrace “good enough.”

The holidays can make us feel like everything has to be picture perfect. But “good enough” is often far more enjoyable. People rarely remember flawless decorations. They remember how they felt. Give yourself permission to stay focused on the moments, not the performance.

Make time for yourself.

It’s easy to get swept up in taking care of everyone else, but you deserve self care too. A quiet cup of coffee, ten minutes with a book, or a short walk can offer a much needed reset. Sometimes the smallest breaks make the biggest difference.

Practice mindfulness and pause to breathe.

When things start to feel hectic, a small pause can go a long way. Even a few slow breaths can help reset your body and thoughts when everything feels loud or rushed. It’s a simple way to bring yourself back to center.

Take a break from social media.

Holiday scrolling can quickly turn into comparing your real life to everyone else’s highlight reel. Stepping back for a bit can help you stay present with what’s right in front of you. Less wondering how things look and more focusing on how things actually feel.

Acknowledge your feelings.

Not every part of the holidays feels cheerful, and that’s completely okay. This season can stir up grief, stress, or loneliness just as easily as joy. Letting yourself feel what you feel, without judgment, keeps those emotions from stacking up quietly in the background.

Prioritize.

You don’t have to do everything. Choose the traditions, plans, and tasks that matter most to you this year and let the rest go. Your time and energy are limited resources. Use them where they truly count.

Ask for help.

You’re not meant to handle the entire season on your own. Whether you need support with hosting, errands, or just the emotional weight of the holidays, reaching out makes a world of difference. Most people genuinely want to help they just need to know that you could use a hand.

From all of us at RebelWELL, we are wishing you a peaceful, joyful, and stress free holiday season.
