THE CITY OF UNLEYLIBRARIES
Reboot - Unley Libraries Digital Literacy Program
Reboot
We are Rebooted!

Reboot has been rebooted after our recent hiatus and we are so happy to be welcoming customers back into our library program. However, we have made some changes in order to keep all of our staff and customers safe and we will be continually evolving these as time progresses and situations continue to change.

At the present time, we are putting in place these compulsory hygiene and safety measures in all of our Reboot and adult programs:
  • A greater focus on larger lectures and presentation-style learning, and less hands-on and small groups.
  • Most courses will be held in the Unley Town Hall, allowing all participants to spread out and physically distance with ease.
  • Hand sanitiser and/or hand-washing facilities will be available at all courses.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices. Access to Unley's shared devices will not be available at this time.
  • We are unable to offer refreshments on site but you are welcome to bring in water bottles, coffee cups, and snacks if you wish.
  • If you are unwell, please take care and stay home, and call the library on 8372 5100 to cancel.
  • Our one-on-one Tech Help sessions are also available again but do have some further restrictions in place to enable a safe and healthy environment. Please see Tech Help details for further instructions.
What is Reboot?
Reboot is Unley Libraries digital literacy program. Reboot is designed to spark your learning, improve your confidence and help you get the most out of the latest
technology. Get ready to learn in a fun, relaxed and interactive way!

Which class is for me?
Our classes range from beginner to intermediate level, with a variety of different learning formats, so there is something for everyone. Take a look at the class details to see what’s right for you, or ask our friendly staff if you are unsure.

Can I bring my own device, and what do I need on the day?
For most classes, you most certainly can. However, you must know all of your own usernames, accounts and passwords that have been set up on your device. This includes your Apple ID and password for Apple devices and your Google account for Android devices. If you do not have these details with you, you will not be able to actively participate. Please see individual requirements for special circumstances or anything extra.

How do I book?
Bookings can be made in person or by calling the Libraries on 8372 5100. Free and gold coin classes can also be booked online at unley.sa.gov.au/reboot.
Unley Libraries is becoming an eSmart accredited library.

eSmart Libraries is a cyber safety framework developed by the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and the Telstra Foundation. It provides libraries, staff and library users with the skills they need for smart, safe and responsible use of technology.

Reboot is helping you get online and embrace the benefits of technology while reducing your exposure to cyberspace risks. Further information on eSmart Libraries.

Staying healthy with One-on-One Tech Help
We are implementing some compulsory hygiene measures for all Tech Help appointments, including:
  • Tech Help appointments will be held in our Tech Lab training room at Unley, instead of the usual space out in the library. This will enable us to spread out a little more.
  • Tutors will be wiping down surfaces, computers, and washing their hands in between customers. All appointments will need to finish on time, to allow the tutors time to clean in between appointments.
  • We ask that all customers sit alongside their tutor (not face-to-face) and give as much space that is reasonable and practical between you.
  • All customers must either wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser prior to their session. These facilities will be available to you in the Tech Lab.
  • If bringing your own device, all customers must wipe their device down with our cleaning wipes. These will be available to you, and are made especially for computer and tablet screens and keyboards.
  • Customers will be asked to handle their own devices as much as possible. When tutors are needing to handle any devices, they will be using their own stylus.
eLibrary
Don't forget that you can access our eLibrary with your library card number and PIN.

Our eLibrary includes access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, over 7000 newspapers and magazines from across the globe, movies, documentaries, training and education resources - all free with your library card.
Please check all requirements before booking as payments are non-refundable. Classes are taught in small groups. Individual needs will be catered for as much as practicable, but is not always possible. Information is correct as of August 2020, but is subject to change.
