PREPARING FOR HURRICANE IAN

The City would like to notify all residents of the pending weather as a result of Hurricane Ian. At the timing of this email, we are anticipating moderate winds mid-day Friday with gusts up to 40 mph and 4 to 6 inches of rainfall from Friday evening to mid-day Saturday. 


To help with flooding we ask that you please clear storm drains of debris & materials. 


During the storm:

  • If you notice localized flooding, downed trees or powerlines, call TCPD's non-emergency number (803)-548-0340.
  • We encourage you to please stay home unless it is an emergency.


The Fort Mill River Access will be closed Sept. 29th at 8:30 AM until further notice.

COMMUNITY HELPERS DAY

Tega Cay Elementary School Kindergarteners participated in Community Helpers Day of 2022. Students visited Runde Park, City Hall, TCPD and TCFD to learn about the different City Departments. We hope everyone enjoyed the day! We did!

POLICE DEPARTMENT

A NEW FACE ON THE FORCE

TCPD welcomed Off. Perkiss this passed month. Officer Perkiss brings a wealth of experience serving 17 years as a Police Officer in California.

Officer Perkiss and his family moved to the area because of the excellent school system and an overall higher quality life.



PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

KEEPING OUR ROADWAYS SAFE


Our public works department has been removing dead pine trees along Tega Cay Drive. Since they started this past month, they have removed 5 trees so far. They plan to continue removal as necessary. 

LANAI LANE STORMWATER PROJECT

 

At August 15th's City Council meeting, Eddie Smith and Son's was awarded the bid for the Lanai Ln Stormwater Project. Eddie Smith and Son's got to work and did a complete pipe replacement. The existing pipe had failed structurally and washed away some of the road's subsurface.

NEW & IMPROVED ASPHALT

Woodholm Court and Molokai Drive (From the clubhouse to Tega Cay Drive) were milled down, and new asphalt was installed as part of the C-Fund road project. This project was awarded to and completed by Blythe Brothers Construction.

UTILITIES DEPARTMENT

Our utilities team members are doing an amazing job at all hours accomplishing water main and service line repairs and sewer force main repairs. A HUGE you to everyone for their hard work!

PARKS & RECREATION

Crews are hard at work finishing up turf, benches, and landscaping installation. We are in the home stretch! We cannot wait for you to come visit this beautiful facility!
