Thank You for a Successful Spring Celebration

The 2025 JFS High Five for Hope Spring Celebration was held on May 1 at the beautiful Stamford Museum & Nature Center. The event brought together supporters, friends, and community partners to celebrate the vital work of JFS and the power of hope in action.

Guests enjoyed a lively and joyful evening featuring wood-fired pizza from La Tavola, gourmet kosher sushi by 613, and sweet treats from the Caffe Bon dessert truck.

During the program, CEO Rachel Kornfeld spoke about the impact of JFS programs throughout the community—including the Bennett Center for Behavioral Health, refugee resettlement, older adult services, food insecurity support, and Jewish Health and Healing. A special highlight of the evening was the arrival of U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, who offered warm remarks and presented official citations to our honorees in recognition of their leadership and service to the community.

This year, we proudly honored Lynn and Vernon Schwartz, Morgan Caspi, Jessie Sorensen, the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, and our inspiring Gen Z Future Leaders: Will Chasin, Jessie Colin, and Katie Ruhe—for their compassion, dedication, and commitment to our mission.

Thanks to your incredible generosity during the live appeal, we reached and even surpassed our goal! Your support is making a difference—but the need continues, and every additional gift helps us expand our reach even further.

If you haven’t had a chance to give—or would like to deepen your impact—it’s not too late. Please contribute by clicking here.

Special thanks to our sponsors, honorees, and every single person who helped make this unforgettable evening possible. We are so grateful for your support and partnership in building a stronger, more compassionate community.

JFS Welcomes Congressman Jim Himes for a Site Visit and Staff Dialogue

JFS was honored to welcome Congressman Jim Himes for a tour and in-depth conversation with our staff. CEO Rachel Kornfeld led the visit, introducing the Congressman to our Resettlement, Behavioral Health, and Management teams.

JFS staff explained how recent executive orders have affected our clients—highlighting concerns around immigration status and funding reductions. Congressman Himes listened attentively, gaining a deeper understanding of how JFS continues to support vulnerable members of our community amid these evolving challenges.

We sincerely thank Congressman Himes for his time and his commitment to understanding the critical needs of our clients and the mission-driven work of our team.

JFS Participates in Annual MLK Event Hosted by YWCA Greenwich

JFS was honored to attend the Coretta Scott King and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Conversation, hosted by YWCA Greenwich. This year’s theme, Women’s Health Equity, brought together community leaders and advocates to promote solutions for a more just and inclusive healthcare landscape in Greenwich and lower Fairfield County.

Rachel Kornfeld, CEO and Geoffrey Anderson, CPO, proudly represented our organization at this impactful event, which celebrates the enduring legacy of Dr. King and Coretta Scott King and their lifelong commitment to civil rights and social justice.

We are grateful for our partnership with YWCA Greenwich and remain committed to advancing equity and justice for all in our community.

We are looking for passionate volunteers to help support our programs and make a difference in the community. If you’re interested in giving back, email Beth Jabick, Director of Volunteer Services.
