Recapturing Love!
At a seminar where I was speaking on “Men of Power,” a man came up and said, “Jim, I like what you’re saying. But every situation is so different. I’m really worried. My wife and I just don’t have the same “feelings” for each other we used to have. I guess I just don’t love her anymore and she doesn’t love me. What can I do?”
“The spark and emotion isn’t there anymore?” I asked.
“That’s right,” he affirmed. “And we have two children we’re really concerned about. What do you suggest?”
“Re-Love her,” I replied!
“I told you, the feelings and emotions just aren’t there anymore.”
“Love her DEEPLY, as God loves you and prioritize her over yourself every day.”
“You don’t understand. The feeling and passion just isn’t there.”
“To RECAPTURE love you need to find a truly “GOD GOVERNED” experience above your former “Man Manage” ways. I call it, “COMING UNDER GOD” versus your being “In Charge.” Only God can give you the power, wisdom and pathway to recapture love. If you will do this daily, God can restore true love in your marriage. When you come under God daily, then He whispers to you simple directives that will restore and recapture the love you once had.(Isaiah 30:21) If you don’t resist and you follow through, you’ll be a victor rather than the victim.
“You see, Love is an action. Love-the feeling-is a fruit of that love. So love her. Serve her as often as possible. Sacrifice for her. Listen to her. Empathize with her. Appreciate her attributes. Affirm her daily. Are you willing to do that?”
Don’t be like King Agrippa when he said to Paul, “Almost thou persuadest me.” Acts 26:28
