A Word from the Pastor
Don't miss out on church!
Join us for worship Sunday at 9 a.m. on Facebook
or onsite Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary
For Christians around the world the fourth Sunday of Easter is known as "Good Shepherd Sunday". The Scripture texts are all about love and care and commitment...Psalm 23, John 10:11-18 and I John 3:16-24. In these these appointed lessons we learn about the breadth and depth of God's love and grace for all of humanity, then how that love is to be lived out through those who claim the name of Jesus. Is God's love for "us" only, or genuinely for others? Is true love passive or active? Worship with your St. Paul's family this week, on line or in person, and hear what the authors of our texts have to say about the essence of Christian life. Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.

St. Paul's Community Garden
Sunday, April 25;1 p.m. Garden Cleanup/early planting
Friday, May 21; 1 p.m. Remaining Plantings
The St. Paul’s Community garden grows healthy vegetables and donates 100% to the Neighborhood House food pantry in Rochester.  This year we have two ways you can help us out:
  • We need volunteers throughout the summer to help plant, water, harvest at the garden site, and deliver to the food pantry.   No previous gardening experience is needed!
  • Grow a vegetable plant at your home and donate the produce from that directly to the Neighborhood House.  Tomato and pepper plants will be available to pick up at the church starting the last weekend of May or you may choose to plant something else on your own.
For more information, to get added to our garden email contact list, and/or to reserve your tomato/pepper plant,  please contact Rob Patten.
Sign-up Sheets will also be available in the Narthex on Sundays.

New Beginnings! Spread Your Wings!
Share some Joy!
Butterfly Wings
Through Sunday, May 9
Watch for new butterfly wings on St. Paul’s church lawn, just outside the Sanctuary doors. Stand in front of the wings, throw your arms up in the air, share a big smile, and have someone take your picture. Post your picture along with a message about St. Paul's. Your message could be about what you love about St. Paul’s, what it feels like to "spread your wings" and help others or what you are most looking forward to in the next few months. With God’s love, we are all set free! Celebrate!
Red Cross Blood Drive
Monday, May 17
1 - 6:45 p.m. in Hickey Hall
The need for blood is great all year long, but in the summer the need is much greater than the supply. What better gift to give someone than the gift of life. Statistics show that 25 percent or more of us will require blood at least once in our lifetime. You can “pay it forward” for that time when you might need blood.
Schedule an appointment by calling Bill Molloy at 248-892-1705 or go to redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code ‘stpaulunited’. Please consider giving blood this time even if you have never given before.
