Dear friends,       “If you want to go fast , go alone; if you want to go far , go together.” This African proverb resonates well with our 40-year journey with this amazing community. Together, we’ve come a long far way. Not always as fast as we’d like, but certainly on track with the vision of community that leads us. The community we want to be. A community where truly everyone counts and all sectors and systems work together for the good of all. The community we want to keep alive and well for the next 40 years. The community we want to leave to our children and our children’s children. And this coming weekend, the community we want to celebrate with all of you and your families, friends, neighbors and our community partners.   Please join us this Saturday, Sept. 14, 1-4 p.m. to celebrate: Our Community. Our Home. 40 Years Together!

40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION - ALL ARE WELCOME! Dozens of community members and partners are coming together to make the 40th Anniversary Community Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 14, 1-4 p.m. a smashing success. All are welcome. The FREE event will happen rain or shine.  Please note: Free parking for event guests will be available at Oakwood Elementary and Messiah Church. Shuttles will transport guests on Saturday to and from the Messiah Church lot. Our lot will be closed for the celebration (except limited handicap parking spots). Come enjoy small bites from local vendors including Natasha's Pierogi, Afro Deli, Cocina de Ana, Sammy's Avenue Eatery, LaMichoacana and more! There will be games and inflatables for kids, a photo booth and live entertainment for all ages, all cultures, and so much more for all community members to enjoy. More >
