Dear friends, 

Anyone who has ever loved or raised a child beyond those early years also knows how important extended family and friends and neighbors and teachers and mentors and coaches and others are in keeping kids safe and hopeful and on track with becoming their best selves.

It does take a whole village. This village knows that.

Here’s the thing. An estimated 500 of our littlest kids are at risk of arriving at kindergarten behind. Another 1,500 of our K-12 kids need our support to meet critical educational benchmarks that keep them on the path to success in life and to access sports and enrichment activities that build healthy bodies and minds and relationships.

SUPPORT OUR KIDS, CRADLE TO CAREER
It's the final month of summer and Great Expectations (GE) is in full swing. Together, we can close the educational opportunity and achievement gaps of children and youth – from cradle to career – in the communities served by the Wayzata and Orono School Districts and Interfaith Outreach.

We're 18% to our $380,000 goal. Donations by Aug. 31 are matched up to $20,000.

HELP PROVIDE SUPPLIES TO LOCAL YOUTH
Drop off new school supplies at Interfaith Outreach Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., through Aug. 17.

Start your Back to School supply drive ! Shop for or ask your friends and neighbors for school supplies -- there are great deals at stores and even online! (Buy from our Target wishlist .) You’ll help hundreds of local families whose budgets are stretched too thin to afford school supplies.

Save the date! On Sept. 14, 1-4 p.m. , Interfaith Outreach will host its Community-wide 40th Anniversary Celebration. Join us in a free, open to everyone community-wide celebration. The outdoor event will include games and activities for kids and families, as well as diverse food and entertainment for all.
