Recent Property Assessments

Many property owners received new assessments from the Town of Greenburgh this month. If you believe your recently issued property assessment is too high or inaccurate, you have the right to challenge it — but you must act by Tuesday, June 17.

Here’s how:

Review Your Assessment

Your assessment should reflect your property’s estimated market value as of July 1, 2024. You can find this information on the Tentative Assessment Roll, published June 1.

Gather Supporting Documents

If you think your assessment is too high, gather proof such as a recent appraisal, contract of sale, or comparable sales data.

File a Grievance (Form RP-524)

Submit the official Grievance Form RP-524 before the June 17 deadline. You can file with or without requesting a hearing in front of the Board of Assessment Review (BAR).

Optional: Schedule an Informal Review

You may contact the Assessor’s Office to request an informal review appointment during the grievance period.

The Town of Greenburgh has clear information and a detailed guide posted on their website.
