Study Spotlight: TRANSFORM

Description

This study compares two different strategies for preventing complications related to atherosclerosis in individuals with diabetes, pre-diabetes, and metabolic syndrome with no symptomatic cardiovascular disease. Those assigned to usual care receive care based on their CV risk factors while the Cleery coronary artery disease (CAD) stage-based care strategy incorporates imaging-based evaluation for coronary atherosclerosis, algorithm-supported pharmacotherapy and personalized education.
