Recipe for Leadership Builds Community in the Culinary World: Meet Stephanie Jaeger, President of Les Dames d’Escoffier
In honor of Women's History Month, we are proud to feature Stephanie Jaeger, President of Les Dames d'Escoffier.
What key moments in your life led you to where you are today?
One of the most pivotal moments was starting my own business—a journey that challenged me in ways I never anticipated but also opened doors to incredible opportunities. Through this venture, I was invited to join the Les Dames d'Escoffier International BC Chapter, a milestone that introduced me to a network of inspiring women dedicated to culinary excellence and mentorship. That experience truly laid the foundation for much of the growth and passion I have today.
What are some of the most important lessons you’ve learned about yourself through your personal and professional experiences?
I’ve learned that you can’t—and don’t need to—do it all alone. Success is rarely a solo endeavor, and surrounding yourself with people who share your vision and goals is invaluable. I’ve also come to appreciate the reciprocal nature of support. It’s not just about giving or receiving; it’s a two-way street. Some of the most meaningful encouragement I’ve received has come from unexpected places, reminding me to always stay open to connections and possibilities.
Where does your passion to serve come from?
My passion to serve comes from the joy I see in others when they succeed—whether it’s a smile of gratitude, a breakthrough moment, or a shared celebration of achievement. There’s something profoundly fulfilling about being part of someone else’s journey to success, and that inner glow fuels my commitment. At its core, my desire to serve is driven by a belief in equality and the conviction that everyone deserves opportunities to thrive.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Mistakes are inevitable, but they’re not the end of the road. Learn from them, grow because of them, and then let them go. Don’t let the fear of failure hold you back—every stumble is a stepping stone to something greater.
