"...superior quality, authentic look, and natural feel..."
When retired general contractor Eugene Kelley was looking for flooring options for his new Vineyardhaven home, he looked no further than genuine reclaimed antique heart pine from Antique Lumber Co. and The Jarmak Corporation. Nestled in the woods with high ceilings to draw in the scenic beauty of Martha's Vineyard, our wide plank flooring was the perfect all natural material to add scale, history, and warmth to their peaceful island home.
"Everyone who has seen it, from the installers, to our neighbors have commented on it's superior quality, authentic look, and natural feel. The tight grain pattern is something you can't just find in wood floors made with today's lumber..." said Kelley.
Asked if he would recommend our flooring to his friends and family, Eugene said, "I already have. I love this floor." We think that about sums it up. Click here to learn more about our premium reclaimed wood floors.

Why do we work so hard to preserve this old wood?
So you don't have to.
Every. Single. Day. Rain, sleet, or snow can't stop our men. We've been on the front lines of the reclamation war: waging a constant battle against project deadlines, twenty penny spikes, steel gussets, and the destruction of one of our most prized natural resources: large, old-growth, antique lumber. Above, Project Manager Carlos Luis Torres Jr. prepares a recent order of timbers for shipment on a clear, crisp winter day at our lumber yard in Oxford, Massachusetts.

Circa 1842 timbers reclaimed from historic Quincy City Hall

The Old Quincy City Hall building was constructed approximately 170 years ago. Recently this historically rich piece of America's upbringing has begun renovation that will restore the iconic building to its former glory, and the original carrying timbers that have endured for generations are being given a new life. We'd like to ensure that their legacy is passed on, and on, and on.

These truly one-of-a-kind old growth white pine and heart pine timbers were hand notched by President John Quincy Adams' brother, Thomas.

Reclaimed wood from The Jarmak Corporation is a sustainable and versatile building material for all applications- it brings warmth, character, history and style to your walls, floors, or ceilings, and more.

Why do cutting edge architects, designers, and builders choose us?

The answer is simple:
We have the premium quality reclaimed wood they need.
Recently at our yard in Oxford, Massachusetts, we had the pleasure of meeting with Markus Berger, Assistant Professor of Interior Architecture at RISD, to look over samples for an upcoming project. Markus is a leading advocate of adaptive reuse of building materials- which happens to be right up our alley! He chose various grades of antique heart pine to design and build a variety of storage units, shelving, and a kitchen island countertop to be fabricated in our shop. We've been the trusted source for professionals like Markus for nearly two decades. Stop by and we'll show you why the pros count on us.

A reclaimed wooden built-in that inspires!
One of our favorite pastimes is ogling over the magnificent creations that come about from the wood we save. This beautiful custom built-in bench was masterfully crafted by S C Mountain Millwork of Concord, MA for a client with a taste for bold lines and unmatched warmth and character. Clear, vertical-grain antique heart pine was the right choice!
