YWCA is on a mission
YWCA Glendale and Pasadena stands in solidarity with the Armenian people. We are proud to work with, serve, and celebrate Armenian communities. The City of Glendale is home to the largest diaspora of Armenians in the world. We are humbled and honored to know our lives are forever intertwined with the Armenian experience.

During Armenian History Month, we observe the resilience of the Armenian people. We also acknowledge the Armenian genocide, when the Ottoman Empire massacred over 1.5 million Armenians and displaced generations from their indigenous homes of Western Armenia. We stand against the Azerbaijan invasion pursued against the people of Armenia and Artsakh in 2020, and the continued attacks to date. For many Armenians, these events are a painful reminder of the atrocities they have already endured.

Armenian History Month commemorates the Armenian peoples' culture and achievements despite loss and grief. This Armenian History Month, we stand side by side with the people of Armenia and Artsakh as their story continues to live on.
Improving Allyship for Armenian LGBTQIA+ Communities
Thank you to everyone who made Improving Allyship for LGBTQIA+ Communities a successful event! On Thursday, March 24th, over 100 participants joined this thoughtful discussion on how we, as a community, can improve allyship for LGBTQIA+ individuals in Glendale, Armenia, and beyond.

The discussion centered around human rights violations of the LGBTQIA+ community in Armenia as depicted in the documentary Listen to Me: Untold Stories Beyond Hatred (2016).
To all of you who attended, from Armenia, Canada, and here locally in Los Angeles County, we thank you for being a part of it. A special thank you to our cohosts, GUSD Social Science Teacher Patrick Davarhanian and Grey James from glendaleOUT; and to our fantastic panelists: Vahan Bournazian, Human Rights Professor; Mamikon Hovsepyan, Pink Armenia; Lilit Martirosyan, Right Side; Perch Melikyan, Charachchi; and Erik Adamian, ONE Archives Foundation and GALAS Board Member.
Upcoming Events!
