The Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River & Bay is revamping its Unsung Hero recognition program. Their goal? To introduce members to even more of the many men and women who work behind the scenes every day to support our port and its customers, often going far above and beyond the call of duty, helping to make our port an increasingly attractive place to do business.
HEROES 2.0
Rather than calling for nominations and selecting a single winner (or two), the Exchange is now inviting members to submit names of people they would like recognized. After a preliminary validation check, the Exchange will profile each individual in The Beacon throughout the remainder of the year.
This is their way of saluting the countless heroes—and the organizations that employ them—that make the Delaware River port a thriving community for all involved.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Who is eligible? Any employee or volunteer within any Maritime Exchange member company is eligible for recognition, except as noted below. Check here if you’re unsure whether your proposed candidate is affiliated with a member company.
Winners of previous port awards (for example, Seafarer’s Friend, Spirit of the Port, Friend of Chile, Maritime Society or World Trade Association “people of the year”) are NOT eligible for Unsung Hero recognition.
Who may submit names for recognition? Employees of Exchange corporate member companies are welcome to submit names for Unsung Hero recognition. Each member company is entitled to submit up to three individuals per year.
