Celebrating our Marketplace Vendors

The month of November celebrates the family spirit and we're taking the opportunity to acknowledge the significant value of familia at our weekly Community Marketplace. We are celebrating our incredible vendors on the morning of Sunday, November 24th and invite you to join us for this special occasion.

The Community Marketplace is held every Sunday at Oxnard College, with roughly 125 vendors connecting with the community to sell household items, fashion accessories, clothing, toys, produce, sweets, snacks, and much more. Our Food Court features tasty meals for families to enjoy, serving our community from 8am - 3pm. Monthly events include Swap Meet Justice and special celebrations.

The Community Marketplace plays a pivotal role, generating a remarkable $500,000 for the OC Foundation, which is vital in funding scholarships and supporting campus programs that empower our students towards success. But it's so much more than just a financial lifeline; it's a vibrant family gathering that embodies the heart and soul of our community. You can feel the lively spirit as children laugh and play, families share delicious meals, and friends mingle, creating an atmosphere of warmth and inclusivity.

Dia de los Muertos a huge success

The OC Foundation was proud to co-sponsor the Dia de los Muertos event on Friday, November 1st. The celebration welcomed the campus community and local community members to participate in fun activities, enjoy tasty food, and honor deceased loved ones with decorative ofrendas. Musical and dance performances, presentations, and the procession through the campus highlighted the essence of comunidad.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to the Port of Hueneme for their generous sponsorship and active participation, which truly exemplifies their unwavering commitment to community partnerships and educational advancement! We also extend our deepest gratitude to the amazing organizers and partners, including the Rio School District and Santa Paula Unified School District, whose collaborative spirit fuels the mission of Oxnard College. Additionally, we celebrate the dedication of our enthusiastic volunteers, whose hard work played a major role in crafting a memorable experience for our community.
