RECORD WINTER RAIN BUT DRY THIS WEEK

Yes, it has been a wet winter.  Officially the wettest in Portland with over 25" of rain since December 1st. That is 160% of normal and 200% above last year. Good for ending the drought   (http://droughtmonitor.edu/oregon) but tough for mowing. We will be beginning our spring mowing this week as after a few showers today, the remainder of the week is forecast to be dry. Most lawns are still quite wet and soggy, so we will mow as it's possible without damage.

WARM DRY SPRING FORECASTED

Hopefully the forecast stands as the 3 month spring forecast (http://fox.com/dry spring ahead) is for warmer and dryer than normal weather. This would be welcome as the local landscapes have been hammered with rain and will benefit from dryer weather. The extended period of saturated soil may have damaged some trees and shrubs but that impact will not be seen until spring when they return to growth.

As for us landscapers, we very much look forward to dryer weather to help us get your landscape cleaned up, mowed and ready for spring.
