Over the past few months, it has been hard to find joy when so much of our world has been turned upside down. Many of us are grieving loss of life and also grieving the loss of jobs, routines, social connections, and financial security. How will we remember 2020 and what are we to take away from all the challenges we are facing?
In June, our fund awarded an annual record of $23,508 in grants to eight local nonprofit organizations. These grants include an impact grant of $10,000 to the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties.
The Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund gained two new advisory board members. Join us in welcoming Sonja P. Pagniano and Victoria A. Wickley to our fund.
Each year, more than 1,000 people reach out to the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties looking for a chance at a new life. Unfortunately, the problem of domestic violence is only growing. Last year alone, the shelter provided more than 5,200 shelter nights for people in crisis.
