Recovering With Clean Water After Devastating Tornadoes in Kentucky
Following the recent tornados, thousands of Kentuckians contend with devastating injuries and loss of loved ones, as well as the destruction of homes and businesses. Our instinctive response is to reach out and help those affected individuals and families in our home state.
As grieving turns to rebuilding and recovery, Water With Blessings is already providing support. With 170 two-gallon pouches and 20 filters with buckets initially provided to Ursuline Sister of Mount St. Joseph Martha Keller at St. Jerome Church in Fancy Farm, clean water is flowing and training is already in action in western Kentucky. The use of Sawyer PointONE filters and pouches will help provide long-term solutions for clean water without the environmental burden of plastic water bottles, or the need to find a power source in those areas with a boil-water advisory.
Sr. Martha is leading the training with tornado survivors on the use and benefits of the water filters, an experience she gained from volunteering for clean water in Jamaica. The filters can clean water from rainfall, springs, old wells and other sources without the fear of biological contaminants and help reduce reliance on bottled water.
If you would like to join Sr. Martha and Water With Blessings in making clean water available in western Kentucky, you can donate using the link below, or you can text Water4Survivors to 41444.

Christmas Blessings to All In Our Community for Mission

It takes real effort to bring peace to others. It takes real effort to have peace in our own hearts.
And yet there is Peace available to us all, the Peace that God gives to us in the gift of His Son, lying in a makeshift crib in the cold night in Bethlehem. That is Peace, not as the world sometimes gives, but the Peace beyond our understanding: the Peace of God pouring out Blessings upon us, packed down and overflowing into our hearts.
This true Peace comes to us when we share those Blessings with others: in Haiti after the earthquake and flooding rain; in Honduras after back-to-back hurricanes; in the Navajo Nation where our first citizens still struggle for basic necessities.
You bring that true Peace to others. From your generous heart, you have sent the filters and buckets, trained the new Water Women, given those thirsty children their first sips of clean water. In the picture nearby, you can see Mikerlange (Kreyol version of Michelle) doing just that for her baby in Haiti.
Even in this time of financial hardship for many, Water With Blessings has continued to thrive – more gifts from our longtime donors; new friends joining us each week. Our Community for Mission changes lives every day.
In this Season of Peace, may God breathe the Holy Spirit into your hearts, so that the flame of God’s Love and Peace may fill you with the Joy of Christmas. Then let us together work to share the warmth of God’s Love and Peace to others throughout the New Year.
Christmas blessings, from all of us at Water With Blessings!
Giving During this Holiday Season of Caring and Sharing
The month of December offers us a joyous time of year to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and togetherness with family and friends. According to a recent survey, nearly 6 of 10 Americans (59%) expressed a preference for a charitable donation made on their behalf in 2021 rather than receive a material gift this Christmas. If you are looking for a charitable gift that will keep on giving beyond the holiday season, please consider a donation to Water With Blessings to honor your special family member or friend. Please share our unique mission of improving children’s health with clean water so that we can distribute more filters in the Navajo Nation and in countries around the world!
In addition, 1,500 American adults were asked about their December giving preferences. The final tally found that 64% of respondents participate in year-end charitable activities, including
----giving money (53%);
----donating goods (46%) to charities;
----donating cash or goods directly to families in need (27%);
----performing random acts of kindness (25%);
----volunteering (20%)
When you look beyond these compelling statistics, we know intuitively--and research confirms it--that it feels good to give to others and giving helps us feel connected, especially during the challenges of a global pandemic and the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. When you look at the beautiful faces of our Water Women and their children featured in our e-news, you can see the looks of relief on their faces when they realize that they will be able to access clean water on a daily basis following filter training and household placement that also benefits 3 neighboring families. Thanks to you for your donations, advocacy and volunteering on behalf of Water With Blessings: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
This year, we have begun expanding our giving opportunities so that more Water Women can use filters and participate in training with more diverse types of gifts to include
--Shares of stock and securities
--Charitable distributions from IRA accounts
--Bequests, wills and estate planning
--Cash/checks/online credit card gifts
--Matching gifts from your employer
Your personal philanthropy has a big impact—thank you for considering Water With Blessings for your charitable giving..

The Cradles of Christ Christmas Auction once again was a great success. Through your support we were able to raise enough to fund more than 50 new Water Women.

We hope that you will have a wonder-filled Christmas Season and a Happy and Successful New Year. May God bless you for your generosity.
