Mobile Telemedicine for Buprenorphine Treatment in Rural Populations With Opioid Use Disorder
MACS Principal Investigator, Eric Weintraub, MD, Program Director, Kelly Coble, LCSW-C, and other team members conducted a quality improvement study for delivering buprenorphine telemedicine treatment via a mobile unit on the Eastern Shore. Substance Use Issues Are Worsening Alongside Access to Care
The recent uptick in substance use issues is disproportionately affecting many people of color. Between 2018 and 2020, drug overdose death rates increased across all racial and ethnic groups, but increases were larger for American Indian and Alaska Native, Black, and Hispanic people compared to their White counterparts.
